I am having 8 years of experience in development. But I started losing interest in coding. I want to move to management side mainly scrum master which I have lot of interest. Is it feasible to shift from developer to scrum master? I recently joined new company. Will they give me opportunity for the same? Any kind of advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.Wipro Tata Consultancy DXC Technology Capgemini

Fantasizing about calling in sick tomorrow.
I'm envious of those of you having office trysts.
I wish my partner was smarter and on my level
I’d rather be playing Scrabble

And stop praising them.
I fucken love this post! I’m so sick of my AD wanting to stay late when it’s not necessary or she took a long lunch or something BS like that... 🙄
This post was started because someone praised another at my work saying, “Ohhhhh they stay so late!” They didn’t realize this person gets in at 11:50 am almost every day and is not a strong enough creative to be worthy of it. This Mid AD takes forever to comp up stuff because they are not skilled and cannot come up with a decent concept if their life depended on it. Most people aren’t intelligent enough to notice that someone “staying late" is not worth the praise. We all have our different creative processes. Here’s the best way to judge —-
1. Are they good? Do their ideas knock you on your ass? Great. Show up when you want, boo boo.
2. Are they taking smoke breaks every 30 minutes / just dicking around and complaining? Then you’re not burning any midnight oil. You’re trying to catch up because you suck.
Back in the day there used to be respect so we couldn’t abuse other people’s times. This needs to come the Fuck back.
Also to the person that used to sleep overnight on the couches at my old agency to “prove” she was working hard, none of your ideas ever impressed anyone at the office. Ever. They were as desperate as the couch you slept on.
Let’s stop enabling idiots everyone. Let’s just stop this shit.
I usually get stuck working late because of dysfunction in other departments.
Last one in, first one out 👌
The more you know 💫
Do they really get praised? I tend to stay late just to make up for the time I dicked around during the day, and I usually get more done in a quiet office
Creativity shows up at so many different times. For me it’s often dreams and I keep a notepad by my bed. Others wake up early. It’s a practice. “Showing face” is a toxic part of our culture. Even writers of movies and tv shows are encouraged to take a walk around the block. Too much desktime can lead to drudgery. The best way to concept with a partner is to show up with your ideas jotted down and then pull the best nuggets out of those and hey, sometimes one part of yours will match up great to one part of theirs. But I notice so often creatives show up to meetings with their partners with nada and they stare at the ceiling for hours with nothing good to show. No one seems to understand time management.
Truth.
My old supervisor would always be the last to leave. Everyone would be like “look at them working so hard” but in reality they didn’t know to manage their time and never checked emails. I never felt bad leaving on time because I knew this person has bad time management skills
Also not sure who can come up with ideas during the day, those are some special people.
Preach
Yea some people just suck. Some actually just go the extra mile to wrap stuff up etc. But if someone is dying and or staying late every night then yea something else is going on.
Amen.
I’m usually most creative right after everyone leaves. That’s why I stay late. Who cares about the praise.
My CW comes in late (constantly late for meetings) spends half of his time chit chatting with coworkers, even goes on lunch dates with said coworkers to catch up causing us having to stay longer at work. The worst part is when I’m talking to him about work, he somehow always gets distracted and started chatting shit with others mid conversation. But since he’s “nice”, he’s seen as hardworking wtf?
Note: long lunch dates
I once had a talented designer on my team who was bad at time management. She would wait until the last minute to start on a project and then stay up all night to get it done to meet the deadline. Ok, fine. But then, our ECD would expect me to have sympathy for her because she was up working late. Geez
@AD5 yup.
@CW4 you are an outlier
