Just booked our honeymoon at the st Regis in Maldives. Got an over water villa with Marriott points. What's the best way to ask for an upgrade to either an over water suite or sunset facing over water villa? I'm titanium elite and heard stories of Marriott upgrading honeymooners. Should I just call them up?

Do you have an ambassador? I always just have mine arrange this type of stuff. She always hooks it up.

Unfortunately lost ambassador status as I wasn't traveling as much last year and got downgraded to titanium.

like

Might as well call, worst they can say is no. But the Maldives is amazing regardless.

I’m Ambassador Elite and just requested an upgrade from a regular room. The ambassador said they noted on my profile that it was my honeymoon, but couldn’t guarantee an upgrade.

Check flyertalk. You’re very unlikely to get an upgrade without paying additional cash per night.

Getting married next month and we’d like to have a joint checking account to cover shared expenses, however I don’t want to miss out on all the points I can rack up by consistently using my delta platinum card (spending thresholds = point bonuses, etc). Also my credit card bill will likely be a mix of shared and personal expenses, so how do couples go about this? Open to any advice. Thanks!

Biglaw first year deferred from September to late January with a $10k advance. I had to incur $11,000 in credit card debt to live, & right when I started work, had a medical emergency that ended up costing me another $3,500. My paychecks have been smaller due to paying back the advance and prioritizing maxing out my 401k and HSA (my credit card debt was interest free). It was depressing working these hours to mostly just pay needs and my debt. Today I paid it all off! Woooooo! I feel so free.

I have Amex points on corp card and need to buy a long haul flight. It looks like it’s best to use them by booking travel through Amex but I’m confused about the bit that says I’ll get a statement credit when I pay with points. Does that mean I’ll then have to spend more on the card to get rid of the credit?

Hey team need some help - I’ve flown United since I was a child, and naturally I’ve flown with them through and through my consulting career. NYC based if that makes any difference. TIA!!

News happens. 45 point run up in ES in one hour. We ticked into new highs. But, as long as we are within 10 points of the close, we will fill the gap, meaning some pressure on the open. Obviously, got blown out of my sells, but have reestablished up here at a 93 average. Short from 3093
