I have worked at my agency for a year and a half and love the work that I do with my clients but I have recently gotten an offer from an agency who is offering to poach me for a higher salary. I feel indifferent about leaving because the agency culture is very similar but has anyone ever used something like this to negotiate a raise?

Does making a switch from Deloitte USI to EY-Parthenon makes sense?

Deloitte USI
Pros: Good work culture, Varied Type of Projects, Exposure to US markets
Cons: Kind of back end work sometimes

EY-Parthenon:
Pros: India Market, Strong Clients in India (both corporates and start-ups), Front End
Cons: Heard culture isn't great, Not that much variety in projects

I have two offers, one from Am Law 100 firm and one from Am Law 200 firm. Am Law 200 firm is offering 40K more (otherwise the firms have same hours target and, based on discussions, similar culture). I’m trying to decide between the two based on long term career prospects, both offer opportunity for NEP (not sure how realistic it is at either). Also not sure of overall earning potential down the road. Is the 40K now worth it or am I likely to make that up at the Am Law 100 firm in the future?

If so, do you attend on your own or does your company support you attending those events by either paying for you to go or giving you off on those days to go and attend those events? How would you go about changing the culture of the company to show that those events are beneficial?

What’s the deal with AVP positions? They seem way worse than a senior associate role

I am going to be starting a job working in an academic laboratory at a school in Western NY as a lab tech, and was offered 32k salary. I have a BS in Med lab science and have been working in clinical research for the past three years since school. Negotiating them to go higher has not been very successful so I’m hoping to get a sense whether this is a fair salary for my experience? I’ll be cutting my salary more than in half from my job in clinal research but trying to get into PhD program.
