Sounds like hiring standards aren't what they once were. And they say it's "impossible" to make partner..

This is remarkable if s/he is in banking/finance, but the further away s/he is from that, the more of a nothingburger it is.

Was it a white collar junior partner?

To be fair, E-B-I-T-D-A is different from “E-bah-dah”. 😆

Labor litigator?

That is deeply embarrassing. I’ve known what EBITDA was since I was maybe 15...

Sharing my story: I carry an abnormal gene in which me and my wife's first child was affected. We decided with our second child to use IVF. We started our journey in January 2021 and my wife went through 4 IVF cycles using my sperm in a 9 month span (her choice). We decided after the 4th round failed to go a different route and use sperm donation to rid us of the gene. During 2022, she went through 4 rounds of IUI and finally got one that stuck. She is now 14 weeks pregnant and due in April 😊

Any title insurance underwriting counsel here? Full service real estate attorney looking to focus my practice. I’ve applied to most of the major title insurers these last few weeks and I’m feeling hopeful. I’ve never underwritten title but I’ve searched title, written abstracts, written certified title opinions, advised clients in house, litigated quiet title actions, property line disputes and defended oil and gas trespass cases. I know title in and out. I’m ready.

I am interested in moving to another state and realized that this state has one of the most restrictive reciprocity rules in the country. I've passed multiple bar exams. However, I won't get any credit for time I worked in CA because CA isn't reciprocal. I swore I'd never take another bar after taking CA - and now I have to take another exam if we move. I worked in big law in CA for two years and get no credit! Yet the exam has been waived for new grads for COVID. It sure limits our move.

I am considering accepting a fully remote senior counsel litigation position at a Big Law boutique in a different time zone. Has anyone done this? I also don’t know many of their lawyers or any of their judges which concerns me.
