I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?
Hi All,
Need suggestions here. Please help me out. I was interviewed with IBM and got selected. Waiting for offer letter. Meanwhile got selected in another company and got offer too. Put down my ppr. Offer from another company is way beyond than IBM almost 22% more in terms of fixed. Now I’m confused that once IBM releases their offer then should I ask them to match with my holding or not ? Will they consider for negotiations? What’s your thoughts? IBM

What types of jobs are you interviewing for? If the feedback is consistently about more experience… have you considered staying in your role a little longer?
Might be because of the new year and people are off. I was told twice I was getting an offer last week and am still waiting as the recruiter is now OOO.
Rising Star
2 years ago I interviewed with 6 different firms and was rejected by all of them, at various stages. This year I interviewed with 3 and got 3 offers (including the one I’m accepting, which is arguably the best in the industry). Main difference is the market today is red hot and of course I have two more years’ worth of experience (+50% vs. the first time around)
Keep applying! Agree the market is a lot better today so that will definitely impact things. I applied in 2019 to several positions at consulting companies, had interviews and made it to the final round, but still was rejected. I ended up working in financial industry for a year starting in early 2020, in this new position I filled the gaps in skills that previous recruiters said I was missing for those consulting positions. When I applied again in early 2021 my resume was more well rounded, and I was able to put most of the skills listed in the job descriptions somewhere in the resume in use.
And yes, many people are OOO till the new year right now, so may have better luck if you start sending those emails and applying in the new year!
It really depends on the role you applied for, what are they looking for... In my case i sent my CV to ard 6 co, only 1 gave an interview. I'm a frontend developer so i guess my CV wasn't that stacked that the other company bothered to give me a chance. But the role i applied for all the co was pretty much an entry level role, so the company i interviewed pretty much just gave me the role since I'm experienced and able to prove i know my trade. Just waiting on the package since they told me it's currently waiting for approval due to many ppl OOO now.
I guess you really have to find out from the recruiter just what is the role really looking for or the interviewer do they think you will succeed in that role or what are they looking for. No idea if people ask interviewers on their suitability for the role but i usually just ask do they think I'll succeed in the role based on what they know about me from the interview.
