Just finished applying to 10 schools. Now what?

RBC vs Neo financial ? For a data engineering position which company is better in terms of work- life balance and career growth .
I know benefits wise RBC is much better but can any one on the technology side tell me if RBC is on par with the industry standards in the data field and it’s not like old technology . During the interview process I got to know they use python 2 which was so surprising.

I’m starting a job search as I wind down my maternity leave and I have an interview for a role that says “Up to 20% travel around the US for meetings with clients” - but are people still traveling that much since Covid? Since remote work has become more common I feel like in-person meetings and travel expenses seem unnecessary. 20% of the time is once every two weeks - and I’m not sure I’m willing to do that with a newborn baby at home.

I’m applying to jobs in a high COL area and am currently living in a low COL area. I plan to stay in the low COL area and work remotely until offices open back up which won’t happen this year. As I’m interviewing and negotiating salary, I want to be reasonable and fair. Should I negotiate 2 salaries, a lower salary for the time i work remotely in a low COL area and then a higher salary for when I relocate to the high COL area?

Currently interviewing with Amazon for an associate corporate counsel role. After the first round, I was quickly moved on to the written exercise but its now been a month since I submitted it and I haven’t received any update on my application despite following up with HR once. Wondering if anyone is in a similar boat and whether I should just write it off as a refusal… if anyone here works at Amazon, would be helpful to know if this is common. Thanks!

I just got off the phone with a recruiter from Oliver Wyman for a position in NYC. She said the first round was one 45 minute case then a 45 minute behavioral and then the second round is four 45 minute case interviews and one 45 minute behavioral. Is this true? Seems like a lot. I’ve interviewed for several Director and VP roles over the last 6 months. I keep getting to the end only to either be ghosted or told the position is “postponed due to budget”. Even my own company wants me to sit a Director role another 24 months before promotion “because of budget”.

Is budget really the reason or am I doing something wrong? How do I finally get that promo? Been regional ops (13 states) for 15mo and Director slotted for 9 now.

My H1B is not selected in the second lottery. The next lottery is the only option of getting selected. My STEM-OPT will expire in May 2023. I have some questions 1) If H1B gets selected will I be able to work till October 1st (which is when H1B status gets changed) ? 2) My wife will file her I140 in Feb 2023 can she also file H1 EAD along with it? 3) worst case scenario should I enroll in for day 1 CPT program?

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

Have any respiratory therapists found jobs OTHER than being a clinical RT? I want to possibly change careers, but I am finding that a lot of jobs (clinical liason, utilization review, etc) want you to have a nursing degree, not a respiratory degree. I feel like as an RT we are limited to jobs.
