Hello, I am trying for onsite in my current project but it seems like no one is taking it seriously, there is no chance of that happening anytime soon in this project. Should I switch my company? Do companies hire employee with onsite opportunities or do they only send old folks onsite??
Has anyone here transitioned into a project management, product lead or CSM role? I’m really wanting a break from the heavy technical side and build some leadership skills. Any advice or feedback on experience would be great.
My firm has a collections budget (80% of your billable rate x 1850 hours) and an hourly budget that must be met in order to be eligible for a bonus. The firm cares very little about originations and will reward someone for making their collections over someone who brings in new work. I missed my collection budget due to some odd timing with a client, but originated more than all my peers so no bonus for me. I’ve been at this same mid level firm for 9 years and it’s all I know. Is this normal??
Hello -travelling to client site for the first time, few questions as a manager: 1. What’s my max per diem for meals? 2. I am travelling on Sunday - hoping I can charge meals on Sunday as well? 3. I decided to stay the weekend as I had to travel back again on Monday - can I charge the hotel during weekend? Since I will be avoiding the full flight cost which is huge?
I’ve been a project manager (delivery focused) for 8 years now and have worked across multiple companies / teams as I am a contractor. Lately I’ve been feeling really bored in my roles and not challenged enough. I’ve previously loved what I do but now I feel indifferent towards my role. I’m worried if I look for more senior PM roles I will feel the same. What other options could I explore and has anyone else had a similar experience?
I am a POC working on 2 projects at once. Both of my teams are largely comprised of POC. For one project, there is huge political pressure to deliver a program that will benefit citizens and the client started late — constantly fighting fires and asking us to do more and more work in shorter periods of time. This AM, my Partner asked to remove me from that project after I have worked several nights overtime and supporting my juniors because I didn’t respond to his message after 8pm.
How much money I can make in short term onsite project to Netherlands ? What all tcs provide interms of money n facilities in Amsterdam?
I've been working at my current job for about a year now and I'm finally beginning to understand how the company works.
It's not easy, though. It's a small company, which means there are only a few of us in each department. There is no dedicated training team, so we all have to learn new things on the fly through trial-and-error or by asking our coworkers for help. The management team seems to be pretty hands off when it comes to project management and project direction, so it's up to us engineers to figure out how we want to spend our time and who we want to work with.
Has anyone come up with a gracious way to tell existing or prior clients that you are too busy to take on more of their work? I am in a mid-sized law firm in Florida and drowning in work. I don't want to burn bridges but keep accepting more work from existing/prior clients because I feel like it's impossible to say no to a good existing/prior client.
Is there a market for lawyers to add expertise In crisis management or reputation management? My goal is to counsel clients on how to respond to media inquiries without saying or posting something detrimental to a potential lawsuit while still maintaining communication with their client base. If so, how to break into that industry? Courses? Books? Certifications?

Do Hiring Managers identify concern over a candidate’s job hopping at resume review / interviews only, or also during background check? Asking because I left consulting after 1 month, and have been at my current firm for 2 years. I’ve left the 1 month role off my resume, but reporting it on the background check; thus wondering if I’d be questioned about it if they saw it in the background check.

Anyone here ever struggled working at a private practice during your first year as a licensed counselor? I work well with the clients but I find it difficult to accept the pay I receive for the amount of work I do and is required. Lately, I realize I haven’t been putting in much effort towards paperwork because of the pay I receive.
So I accepted a new job at a higher base of 75k but is it weird in an investment bank they do not offer a laptop or headset everything is done on the employee’s personal devices?

Im sure this question gets asked on a regular basis, but a quick search didn’t yield a result, so sorry in advanced. What methods (that actually have a presence i.e. not a group with the same five people) are available to singles in addition to Muzmatch, Minder, and HOD?
Is a second career gap considered career suicide in tech/consulting - both were voluntary, never fired or laid off?
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
