Just found out bonus levels are set according to grade and my bonus level is lower than that designated for my title. Also I am about 45 - 50% underpaid than colleagues in my grade (project managers and sales) How do I ask for an adjustment of my comp package? I am about to hit my 6 month mark. I am legal counsel for the transactions team.

Did you negotiate your salary when you joined? What have you accomplished in the past 6 months that would warrant a substantial raise?

Generally it’s pretty tough to renegotiate comp in under a year.

Are the project managers and sales people revenue generating? Of course they get paid more than overhead….

like

Sales get paid more than Legal, 99% of the time, if they're hitting quota and getting their bonuses. You should not compare legal and nonlegal salaries. Apples and oranges.

like

How did you find out?

I don’t think you should compare your salary to revenue-generating positions.

I'm in a technology transaction role and also make considerably less than the software developers at the same level. As others have mentioned, revenue generators make more money.

Welcome to being a cost center.
