This fiscal year ends in March 202, review/consensus occurs after that. There is no way it is already decided
I ran out of words in the initial post but was going to say not in the US firm... but was curious to get multiple perspectives anyway and since the US firm is so large sometimes you get a better response if you leave it general rather than asking the 15 other Canadians 😆

It depends what part of Deloitte you are in but I think 10% is standard. I’m aiming to ask for 15%
I’m in the consulting practice. And it’s been confirmed by my coach that I went up for promotion and it was successful :) I’d love 15% but would be happy with 10%. Worried that it will be less since I’m at the top of the SC pay band already.
In Canada we have mid-year (not as many folks receive promo at mid) and year-end. Mid-year announcements are being made in Feb and year end usually gets announced July/Aug
At least in the US practice there’s no upfront negotiation or “asking for a certain raise.” Most promotions are standard percentages
The comp decisions are already made on the promotions. You just get told what your bump is. If you want more money you need to ask for it ahead of the next round tables. Comp discussions are occurring now (until Feb 7th) before the official promotion kicks in feb 10th. In turns of expectations? Expect to be depressed by the minimal amount. Why? You’re an SC at the top of your band and It’s a mid year promotion. There’s a chance to get more at year end. Oh and past experience? Forget it ever happened. Means nothing now. Except when bidding on proposals.
Update: the mid-year bump was not as depressing as I thought it would be. So my initial hypothesis had to do with service line funding. Turns out the size of the bump has to do with how we are tracking on our plan numbers. So if you’re seeing green on your service lines plan it means there’s going to be more money to give out. Pretty straightforward. Factor in how many others get promoted, your tenure, what you came in at and you end up with a raise % increasing that is roughly consistent across all of the other promoted. (E.g., everyone gets a 10% increase +/- a % or two)....for OP since you came in as an experienced hire you have a high likelihood that you are making more as an SC than some of the Ms that were internal promotes. Guess you’ll have to see how you feel about the number but it does seem like if you want more you can work for the case again at year end.

About 10 does that make a difference for promotion or just initial offer when hired?

The promotion? If yes - I had to work with my coach on how I was meeting the KPIs but my local partner and my project partner both encouraged me to go up and felt I was ready.
In the US we don’t ask and there is no negotiation, unless you have an offer in hand. Otherwise it’s a vague conversation 3 months before consensus and 6 months before promotions go into effect.
