🐠 fam I’m going to be a father 🤯 I’m not allowed to tell anyone yet in real life so I’m telling you guys
My husband and I are both freelance in production. We took a lot of time off after our baby was born and now need to get back to work and find childcare. Unpredictable sched/long days, what do we do?
Previous client interviewed me for a role at a new company he just joined. We chatted in depth about the role & what it would look like the first year. Red flags started going off
New to home purchase. Is there a significant tax benefit to having a home office? I have a spare room I can convert into a home office but I usually work out of my bed or a couch.
This pandemic has been bad. Disrupted (prevented) exercise routine due to living circumstances and health reasons, my interpersonal skills at work have been dulled significantly. Like everyone else, there was a lot of disappointment with raises, promos etc. I'm on rejection number 17 for exit opps in the last three months as of today. I feel like a broken person. So much stress would be relieved with a new role and a little raise. What's next?
For benchmarking I think it’d be helpful for all on here to see starting comp. (undergrad or MBA) at top consulting firms: Firm: Base salary: Total possible per. bonus: Profit share: 401K:
Which companies (not big 4) are the most skilled (knowledge, reputation, etc) Cybersecurity in USA?
12 yo kid sitting next to me on a cross country redeye was doing his best Voldemort impression the entire time...gotta admit though, the dude was pretty good.
That Deloitte hack could’ve happened to any of our firms, sucks for the firm but really sucks for fellow 🐠 who have to respond to client questions. Good luck out there!
So, I’m currently interviewing for new job, and market is not bad, but I’m anxious and I am interviewing for every opportunity that comes my way (director/vp level, tech). Today, September 30 I received an invite for an initial interview for another opportunity. So I applied to this opportunity through networking on August 10 (!). It looks like a red flag for me and I’m thinking thankyounext, but again it’s covid time... Thoughts?
If you're getting laid off, do you think the firm will allow you to "stay employed" and let you take your pto instead of paying in out just so it gives you time to find a job while "still employed"?
For people who have switched from Big4/Tier 2 consulting firms to MBB, what's the reason you made that switch? Also, how are you finding consulting at MBB better than your earlier consulting gigs? What according to you, is the selling point for the tier 1 consulting firms?
Honestly so sick of recruiters, I had someone tell me that most people leave public accounting for less money than they made in audit.... so let me get this straight, we work hard for 2-3 years so that we can find a job that pays less? I’m a early promo to senior asking for 90k (5k jump from what I would have made if this was a normal year)
I make 300k a year but pay a significant amount in fed, state and local taxes due to living in NYC. I max out my 401k already. Any other ways to decrease my taxes so I can save more and retire early?
