FXAIX and FSMAX would be my two picks

Considerably lower expense fees versus your other option for mid.

100% FXAIX

100% in the Target Date fund for your projected retirement year. If you want more risk, pick a later year. More conservative, pick an earlier year.

Vanguard target rate funds are 0.15%. They are a bit conservative compared to sp500 as they also include bonds. They also are a bit more diversified with some international assets so they will always underperform whatever is hottest (which has been domestic stocks for the past 10 years). On the flip side, they are a true lazy persons dream and also prevent you from tinkering too much - #1 cause of losing in the game we call investing :)

I have a hard time paying expense ratios over .5% for something that’s not actively managed or extremely hard to trade (international alternative investments). I’m not sure if the ones you listed with high expense ratios are actively managed funds or just ETFs but one day when you have $1M in that ETF you’ll wish you picked one that had an expense fee much lower than 1.44%, that’s over $14k a year in fees instead of $100 with FXAIX. Find ways to diversify and invest in stocks you like with expense ratios under .5% or get ravaged by management fees, your choice.

I agree, just frustrating to only see 4 funds out of 40+ with expense ratios below 0.5% (and these 4 are all below 0.06%). Two of the 4 are the large and mid cap funds in my photo above, one is a bond investment, and the last one is international with rates of return of 4.45%, 16.78%, -10.60%, -4.48%, 1.2%, 2.35%, and 4.27% for the 1mo, 3mo, YTD, 1yr, 3yr, 5yr, and Life time periods.

I went with 100% large cap growth in mine - figured I can handle the risk

Spend some time reading Paul Merriman's website and get familiar with his his "two funds for life" portfolio.

Try to invest in overseas or emerging market equity funds this year; domestic US will not be good

International funds are getting killed this year! They are less likely to rebound quickly as compared to US stock market

EY 🐠, your winter/summer breaks say “use 3 days of vacation or personal days”. So for winter break Dec 25-Jan 1, do you have off that entire break, but just have to use 3 days of PTO and charge the rest to Holiday? Am I reading this right? Also I see $60/month reimbursement for cell phones, does this mean if your phone bill ever goes over $60/month you’re on the hook for the difference?

I’ve worked at the same big 3 boutique since I was a clerk. I’m a NEP now. I work in a mid to small market town. One of the partners in one of our larger offices wants me to move to their market. I have a great relationship with this partner and they are telling me they are planning to retire in 5 years. They have a sizable book of business. I have two small kids, my wife is an attorney who practices in state court. I’ll never be more than a well-regarded service partner if I stay. Would you go?

Just got engaged 😊😊. Need some advice. We both have two homes already. 1. Is it always better to get a third home ? 2. If yes, is better to rent out or sell the other two homes? Both homes mortgages are $1250 & $1450 and 1500 sqft & 2200 sqft respectively. Both homes are 3 bedrooms. 3. If we are getting a third home what price range is recommended? We are based in Houston and HHI is going to be $380,000(including bonus & rsu) & $300,000 base. We are 27F & 30 M and no kids yet.
