Just got a salary increase to 122,000. I typically only contribute to a Roth 401k and not the traditional since I’d heard getting it taxed now is better in the long run. Should I diversify my contributions into both though? I feel like I may be missing opportunities by only contributing to the Roth. Thanks for any guidance!

If you contribute to traditional Ira and your income eventually goes up above the deductible limit (you may already be there, but not sure) you will get no benefit from any IRA in the future. I would continue to do Roth, using the backdoor if needed

Think OP is talking about traditional 401k, which have no income limits.

Anyone knows if it is easier to get a mortgage for an investment property than for second home? Mortgage specialist from a bank I worked with for my first purchase said rates would be a bit higher for rental property and cannot use gift money for downpayment. How does rental income come into place in the whole process? How can potential rental income reduce my rates or upfront cash outflow? Also should I use the same bank for this second mortgage? Any recommendations? Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone.
With regards to HRA proof submission for IT Proof Submission, we need to upload rent receipt and rent agreement.

With regards to rent receipt, do we need to upload rent receipt of all the months(from April 22 to December 22)? Or any one month? Or even the future months till March 23?

Thanks in advance for your inputs :)

My S.O. has ESPP plan with 15 percent discount. Her company’s share price doesn’t vary much. Up or down. Thinking of taking the 15 percent discount and selling. Moving espp into an etf or something like that. Some tax implications but am I missing anything else? Immediate 15 percent gain excluding taxes and then better appreciation potential elsewhere. Thx in advance

Hi, I'm looking into moving into Canada from US. Unfortunately I didn't get selected for my last H1-B this year and my employer will not help with move to Canada. I have a Bachelor from US in Comp Sci and ~3 years of work experience in the US.

I looked into the EE program but given I don't have a job offer from a CA company with LMIA, I'm slightly below the last CRS cut off. What are some visa programs I can look into? I'm completely new to this process so any recommendation would be helpful.

Recent grad looking to refi ~60k in private student loans. I’ve qualified for a decent rate - currently paying around 5% but through refi I can get between 3% to just under 4%. I can’t decide on the sliding scale amount (interest vs monthly payment trade off) to go with. If I keep my current monthly payment that puts me at 3.46% - which is great - but wondering if I should be more/less aggressive. I have another 40k in federal loans that I’m not currently touching due to current relief. TIA!
