Just got an offer and want to sanity check it. I have 8 YOE all in house in major city but not NY, LA or SF. Offer is $215k, 40% bonus potential plus another potential 5.5% additional bonus. Does that sound on par?

Yes, bonus is especially generous.

like

That’s a solid offer.

like

What conditions to make 40% bonus?

like

Merit and performance. Essentially if the company does well and I do a good job, I get close to if not all of 40%.

like

No equity?

like

Yeah that generous bonus means they are trying to compete with public tech co comp, which as good a sign that they won’t screw you on raises as you can get from the outside

like

That’s a lot

like

Bonus seems high. Base could probably be higher but not a bad first in-house compensation base.

Still a lot imo! I’m at 7 years in nyc and on my 3rd in house job with a good salary that is less than that

like

Thanks for the perspective everyone. I somehow pulled off getting a counter to meet the offer. It was a significant raise. The money is out there right now.

I need some insight on my salary. I've been working at a large insurance brokerage for 14 years now and am a Senior Account Manager. I service a book of around $1.5M and am doing all the data entry side of the job plus client facing service without much, if any assistance. My current annual salary is $78,500. I've recently found out from someone who left the company, who was in an entry level account management position, was making only $20k less than myself. Am I being fairly compensated?
