Unless you are a partner or a really good director, you are overestimating your importance to the project - like a true consultant. I'd recommend taking the offer after you take your head out of your ass.
Take the offer.
Agreee - the cemetery is full of people that didn't think they have a replacement. We are all replaceable
Your team will forget about you within a month. Put yourself first.
P3 completely agree. You're less important than the team makes you seem. I don't mean that in a "you're not valuable" way, but the consulting environment makes us feel less replaceable than we really are.
You aren't the first person to leave consulting. Give notice and go.
If the shoe was on the other foot what would happen?
@fsc1 super gloomy. Jesus.
Just leave the right way. Give enough notice, transition your work, and gtfo
Put in your 2 weeks and they'll boot you after just 1 just to get you out of the firm faster. The project will survive without you
You got screwed at CRT and you're even thinking about not bailing? SMH
The right way. If they wanted to let me go they wouldn't bat an eye but now I'm like ok... gotta think through this - either way I'll burn bridges but I want to do it the right way and have class. Any feedback appreciated. I know I don't want to be here but really trying to do right by my team cause my departure will be a blow and might look bad..
Give more than 2 weeks notice if possible and look for suitable replacements. Given the circumstances your team will understand and trying doing right by your current team is shows good character. Unless the new company has an urgent need they'll probably take that as a good sign. I had a team mate leave. We had a roll off party for them.
