My cousin is a Sr solution architect at amazon and he got 250k all in. He didn’t have any experience with AWS but he was a solution architect at IBM for 20 yrs but sounds like you should be getting more than him. Don’t ever settle for less because of what you’re making now but understand that youre worth what the marketplace is willing to pay for your skill set and it’s definitely way more than the number that you seem to have in mind.

You should be higher unless you’re in lcol Depending on your skill you could hit 180-195

I see half a mil opportunity in this one....at least

just as a point of reference, my friend was a SWE at AWS and i think he was at like $225k all in, but only had like 1-1.5 years of experience. you might be able to squeeze out a bit more comp with your experience even though it’s 100% remote and other benefits (healthcare and HSA) are nice

like

What other benefits are they offering if no bonus? What's the growth outlook of the company and position? 100% remote is enticing and the base is solid but if you're an AWS SME I could see 165k as realistic too

@ C1 - the other benefits are quite nominal with the exception of healthcare - they will pay for healthcare for me and kids + deposit 2K into my HSA every year, pay my cell phone bill, and 401K is 3% of 100 which is not competitive. I consider myself an AWS SME, and agree 165K will be more ideal - gotta go push for more. Thank you SC1 and SC2 for your input as well.

Been in the job for a little more than a month, specifically in a BB's ECM group Without getting too much in the specifics, I'm a first year analyst, coming from a non IB-related role and am still learning the ropes and getting used to the job. This week's been specially demanding and I don't know if what I'm feeling is a result of that or just something that would happen sooner or later, but I'm kinda second guessing my choice. Does it get better? Or is it a bad sign to feel like this early on?
