Just got an offer for an SE role for $150K OTE and $100K RSUs over 4 years (no signing bonus). I have 4 YOE in consulting. Is this a competitive offer? I have some pre-sales experience but not a ton. I live in a HCOL city.

Any advice on decreasing phone usage? I’ve been spending way too much time scrolling - for some reason whenever I want to wind down I end up grabbing my phone. Even when I do give myself the time to scroll mindlessly, it’s not restful at all. Need more tips on how to do it without “just don’t look at your phone”. I’ve gone on and off with deleting apps that I look at, but I’ll find some way or the other to be staring at my phone needlessly.

Hey everyone I’m a new graduate with a bs in industrial and systems engineering currently looking around for full time opportunities. One role that caught my eye is sales engineering. I wanted to ask for opinions on this career path in terms of pay and career progression. Does it have good exit opportunities? What does the career growth typically look like for this role?

Interviewed at Workday and got an offer: OTE $205 with a 70/30 base/commission split. With $40K RSUs. Thoughts? This is for a senior presales consultant, I come from 8 years of industry experience and 1.5 of presales experience.

Switching from commission to salary-only.

I’m considering a less sales-oriented role (supporting some post-sales). It doesn’t pay commission, ie. will have a higher base but less overall earning potential.

Would you consider this? What reduction in cash should be expected going from a variable to fixed compensation? For example, if you made $200k today, would it be realistic to ask/expect $180k (10% cut) + equity to make up the difference?
