If you’re interested I’d make the move. You can always go back to tax. I just moved from audit to litigation and couldn’t be happier. I think you’ll find that the work is much more interesting, the pay is probably better, and that the hours, while probably a bit more sporadic and intense at times, are better overall
Law school is if you want to be a lawyer. As in you want to be doing the prosecuting and defending. As an accountant, “litigation” really means “litigation support.” Your clients will be lawyers and your job will be to use your financial expertise to help them make sense of the operations, structure, financials, and accounting records of people and companies who are involved in a suit - helping them use that information to present a layman’s argument to juries - writing valuation and other reports for the court - and sometimes giving testimony as a financial expert to the court.
