Hello Fishers, need your help to finalize my decision.
I have 5 YOE and I have done a full-time MBA. I am currently working with one of the product organizations as a business analyst. TIAA offering 17 LPA Fixed (Including PF) against 1 counter offer I had of 15.6 LPA Fixed.
My CCTC is 9.35 LPA so should I ask for more here? Also, how are work culture and policies considering I will be part of the BA profile?

BAH sucks. I went to Deloitte and work at the same client, doing way more interesting work, and getting 20% more plus bonus plus 2 extra weeks of PTO plus a far superior company in every way possible
There are no bonuses until senior associate
No bonus and crappy raises
Whoa 3-9%? People I knew were getting 0-3%.
If I ever went back to BAH, I’d negotiate hard on the front end. My experience was that comp leveled off quickly and promotions were the only way to see a bump above cost of living type adjustments
My offer at BAH in DC for as a senior consultant was 110k and a 10k sign on bonus if that helps any.
$105k-$115k although don’t be surprised if they low ball you... associate band at bah is huge - $72k-$130k
What do you do? If tech track the associate range goes to like 160k at the top end.
@OP was just going to ask about other motivating factors - if you want better work life balance then hands down BAH is a great choice; really enjoyed my time there and can attest that work life balance was 🔥🔥🔥
Meh rewards ok - they are pretty much hi5’s (gift cards) and of you’re performing well you can expect a 3-9% increase yearly, so it’s important to negotiate a solid base... this is from my experience and having managed costing and Lcats for BAH staff while I was there
Thanks really appreciate the input
Yah I got 3% there and was severely underpaid. They lowball big time
I wouldn’t say BAH sucks...It just depends on what you are looking for...it could be a good fit for some. I personally prefer Deloitte for a multitude of reasons. I felt like it’s much easier to coast at BAH.
@BAH1 - OP said sign on bonus which is offered at any level, but correct there are no yearly bonuses until Senior Associate level and above at BAH
Thanks guys, it's a strategy role at 146 but I have an m7 MBA. I'm really looking to make the move as the commercial practice hours are killing me
Yeah d2 that's what I've heard, at this point my only hesitation is that bonus, but I guess the reward you in other ways
So BAH is great for work life balance. However, goodluck moving up the chain, getting promoted is hard. Also constant threat of government shutdown... when that happens expect to use all your PTO and then go on unpaid leave or furlough. Plan for that, it can and does happen in pockets in the firm.
Is it federal or commercial group? Commercial has the fun strategy work, short projects, but keeps the awesome work life balance from the federal side.
Agree with a lot that has been said. Negotiate a high base up front, and don’t be shocked if your annual increase barely keeps up with inflation. I took a “demotion” when switching to a big 4 (long story) but still got a 35% increase on the switch. That said, I loved my time at BAH. Great work-life balance, especially if you can get on a long-term remote project.
