Just got another rejection. Make that from just about every firm in the industry at this point. Is it even worth it to keep trying.

Bro, you go to Stanford.... Something is wrong with the way your resume is setup or you're putting Adolf Hitler as the applicant name

I’m sure you’re a smart person who has been successful at just about everything you’ve put your mind to (since you go to Stanford). So take a moment to reflect on why you’re not seeing a lot of success here.

You seem competent enough to make it to the final round, which means you’re good enough to be hired by any of these firms, but some kind of red flag keeps coming up. It must be related to your behavior or demeanor in the interviews. Is there something you are doing or saying that would make someone think — I don’t know if I feel comfortable putting this person in front of a client.

Are you nervous, awkward, fidgety or something like that?

I was about to add, confidence is a largeee part of casing, or just interviewing in general. As is the ability to take feedback while seeming gracious, and mature. I won’t even throw in the “because Stanford” line since here about confidence lol, that doesn’t matter. All TYPES of people and personalities can attend any type of school.

I would of course say keep applying, but also keep learning and reapplying! Use the Stanford name as an asset only, not a key. You’re the only one who can get YOU in the door. Show them what you can do.

That obviously isn’t getting me any job offers. So what does it matter

Apply to KPMG, lot of people will leave after that disastrous compensation call this week!!!

Have you applied to other T2’s and big 4 strategy arms?

Applied to PWC didn’t get passed resume, same for Deloitte. Never heard from Strategy& rejected from all big three and now kearney.

One thing that helped me is imagining I already had an offer in hand. That cooled the nerves and makes case work a breeze

Holy fuck. Your resume has to be sideways, can you post an anonymized version? I guarantee there’s a big miss that we’ll catch. You should be breezing into interviews from Stanford

Yes. Make sure you maintain a job tracker for all the applications

I’m nervous. I just know my nerves are getting the best of me.

Take cold showers. Nervous is normal, just have to get comfortable with it where it doesn’t affect you. You’ll be nervous as shit about to step into a cold shower but you’ll overcome it and after a few minutes it’s not that bad

The job market is horrible right now - its not just you! Keep trying. Are you open to startup opportunities? Maybe check Angellist. And get involved in MeetUp groups and other networking events.

Hey! Don't lose hope just yet. These are really tough times. Hang in there.

Just keep trying. What else you can do? Only thing you can do differently is start your own business

Don't give up. It also took me almost 6 months to get a job right after college. Just keep trying. Best of luck!

Try video recording yourself answering common interview questions and then watch those clips. Does anything stand out. Fix the issues and iterate until you’re satisfied. This will make you more confident, as you know you will present yourself well

What field are you in?

Well what did you study for starters it’s not all about the name of the school

Dude I go to Stanford and u are seriously fucking something up in ur resume

While most teachers are protected by teacher unions, I feel my voice hasn’t been heard at all with my concerns of going back to school next week. Our diocese has decided on full return 5 days/ week for all 42 schools despite a recent increase in COVID in our communities. Every other school that I know of in my state is either choosing remote learning to start the year or a hybrid approach, yet that was not an option for us. Are other Catholic schools I. The same boat? Stay safe!

Is this group active from EXL side? Few queries are posted over 2 weeks but hardy even 1 is answered. Wondering if there is any other bowl for EXL. 😐

Why did you go the RIA route instead of a BD/HYBRID route? Did you start as an RIA or somewhere else?

So spent the last 30 hours working through this trying to books with points. Still nada. Anybody else have luck?

Went through a professional diagnosis at a reputable local hospital and the results came back that I don’t have it as I scored too well on their testing measurements.

Normally one would be relieved, but I have a tough time buying it. It doesn’t explain my lack of focus, persistent daydreaming, zoning out of conversations, subpar short term memory, inability to sit perfectly still for stretches of time.

Do I go seek a second opinion?

I am in the interview process to a TMT Associate role at a BB. I am an analyst from a mid-tier bank. What should I focus on in terms of preparation? What should be the level of detail or structure when going through my past deals? Any tips would be appreciated!

Should I 1) try to break into PE industry and lateral up OR 2) move to MBB and then recruit?

I am curious. When you evaluate a student, do you always feel the student truly met criteria or do you feel like you are sometimes grasping at straws to qualify a student to make a teacher or principal happy? I evaluated a student who we qualified under Autism Spectrum Disorder because he talked a lot, but not during instruction. He didn’t have many friends either. But could that have been a friendship group with the social worker.

I’m moving to LA in 2 months and want to stay in a short term rental before finding an apartment to rent for a full lease term. there is so much I don’t know, and the more I learn, the more I feel I don’t know about the city. Has anyone used any of the furnished short-term rental apartment buildings in LA before? Or should I go with AirBnB/VRBO? Any advice?
