Just got approached for a senior manager position at fortune 100 company that is an IC role…? Even the director level would have limited leadership opportunity… I guess it’s better than all of the scrum master and project manager roles that seem to fall into my inbox but just odd leveling. Am I crazy or is it weird for a Senior Manager to be an IC???

I'm SVP/strategy for a PR agency. I moved into PR, Healthcare, and Strategic Planning only 3 years ago. An agency recruiter is trying to convince me to move into a GSVP account role, assuring me "at that level it's all strategy." (I dont think she understands the words she's using. Or that I'm qualified). But long-term, knowing account roles are so much more plentiful than brand planning in PR, I'm wondering if I should start thinking about account. I am starting a new role with a new company and will have 6 direct reports. Although I have managed teams before in a consulting project setting, this will be the first time in industry.
