This is why you always ask for the written offer before responding.

It’s a different kind of job - not consulting. It’s a 25% pay cut and for a very prominent non-profit. I called back within the hour and explained that I would be happy to accept for their original offer but had just gotten a raise with my current firm and would ask for a little more if possible. They called back an hour later and gave me what I was looking for so it worked out alright

Its not a situation where I am chasing the money - just making sure I make enough to still put some into savings every month

like

Well, you can always say you accepted the role but the overall package seems a little to be desired for

If they explicitly asked whether you accept & you said yes, then it’s definitely too late

I just graduated with an MSW here in California and was offered a mental health therapist position with Wellpath. I went through three interviews, and none of the people I spoke to could give me a pay range. Does anyone here work for Wellpath in a jail setting and know the pay range? I understand each state and county will be different, but at least I know what they could offer me.

Mid-level here. Has anyone gotten their firm to approve their doing work at a deep discount and, if so, what strategies did you use? A potential client approached me directly about a small matter (~20 to 30 hr amicus brief). The potential client (gov’t) pays a standard rate ~40% lower than mine, but I want to take on the project because it would be a good professional opportunity (e.g., high profile case & client) and of course the lower rate won’t affect my comp directly. 🤷‍♀️ All advice welcome!

Hi all,
I am currently working in a small company as embedded system lead software engineer. I am not excellent but I am good at what I am doing.I joined last year with 13.5 lpa(all in hand) with 45% hike, after joining i realised it was a mistake as the culture was toxic. so I started looking for job from January onwards. After multiple trials I have an offer from endurance company pune. But the offer they are offering is less According to me just 25% hike(with variable).
Any suggestions on this

Looking at exits into pharma and biotech. Have an opp at a biotech at the SM level. Total comp excluding equity is around $190k; RSUs vest over 4 years with annual refreshers, so first year equity would be around $6,200 and it would go up by $6,200 each of the next 3 years, plus whatever base bump I get. Very good benefits package.

They envision 2-3 years before I jump either to AD or right to D. Solid opp? Or hold out to go straight to director level?
