If you are starting as an Audit Associate some time from now with Deloitte or any of the big 4, do they expect you to have passed/completed all 4 parts by the time you start? Received the Becker Reimbursement email from the recruiter not too long ago but have yet to start. I’ve seen plenty of people get to Senior at a big 4 firm without the CPA so I am a bit confused in that aspect. Any helpful feedback will be very much appreciated.

Yes 1400 for a 1bed is lcol
In HCOL, I paid about 1,800 for a one bedroom in 2017/2018 so yeah 1,400 today is LCOL

I'm sure at A2 level a 9% decrease in gross pay is not that significant to be upset about. PwC has SF, NYC, LA, Seattle, etc. to be tier 1 cities but I'm sure everyone will agree with me that LA is a lot cheaper than SF. 1b1b in downtown sf is $4k whereas it's $2.5k in LA. Anyways, you can always move back to your prior city and take that 9% back.
Pwc12...where can you get 1b1b in downtown SF for 3k? Maybe for a studio and I definitely wouldn't call it luxury.
Everything I'm seeing starts out around 4k for 500 sq ft
PwC: If you move to a lower COL location while enjoying 100% remote, then expect a salary adjustment for your new location.
OP: *Moves to lower COL location*
PwC: *Adjusts OP's salary*

People thinking 1400/mo for 1bed is lcol are out of touch. There are a multitude of towns that offer the same quality of housing for significantly less. Your outliers are irrelevant and this being an average is not low at all.
I moved from NYC to Atlanta.
Yes, but crying poor to people who are paying $2,500 for a shitty one bedroom in an expensive city when you get to live in a major city for only $1,400 a month is also out-of-touch. And you can’t compare rents paid in Covid NYC, when there was a short term dip in prices.
You’re delusional, Atlanta is LCOL and an adjustment of 9% to go from NYC to Atlanta is generous imo
lol 1400 for a 1 bedroom is LCOL

It's not just rent, most things everything costs less I'm cheaper markets.
You’re not a victim… should’ve done more research before moving if it’s that big of a deal. ATL is def LCOL. If you want cheaper rent, move further outside the city. I’m in NYC but I live about an hr away by train and pay 1400. Also is in a crappy duplex so if you have high standards of living that’ll drive up the cost
If you moved from a Tier (geoband) 1 city like LA, NYC or San Francisco to a Tier 3, gross salary will be reduced by 10% (or 5% if you went to a Tier 2). This is not new.

That was informative, thank you.
Lol thinking 1400 is a lot. I’m in a tier 3 city too and pay 1800/month and it’s an older apt with not many amenities. The more desirable apts start at 2k here 😔
140th street is an extremely cheap area of Manhattan… not at all comparable.
ATL is not LCOL… I started in a small midwestern city that was actually LCOL and rent was $1,200 precovid. I’m sure it has been raised since then.
Because the labor supply is sufficient in Atlanta metro. Comparing rents between ATL and a Midwestern city doesn’t play into the determination.
COL relates to cost of labor and not cost of living…
I'm at 250k in NYC, would have no issues taking a 15% paycut to relocate to a cheaper place, like somewhere in Florida.
Wow nice!
My cut was 15%. Not happy about it at all, which is why I'm looking for new opportunities
I’m at A&M tax don’t have to be attached to a local office and can be fully remote.
I moved from NYC to Florida and received close to an 18% decrease, but the net take home was nearly the same.

Have been for a while at pwc
I know someone who got a 27% decrease from a Top city to a flyover state
I took no offense, was surprised that referring to flyover states as flyover states is now considered an insult.
It’s becoming common now, especially if moving from VHCOL to LCOL. The old practice of future smaller raises to align to new city would never catch up someone coming from San Francisco moving to Charlotte or Atlanta and would destroy the “pay band”
Was the pay lowered due to WFH or for relocation?
Relocation. The firm is not changing salaries based on going into the office or not
