Hi Fishes,
Anyone here at Luxoft with permanent remote ? I got an offer. Will they ask to come to office at any point ? What about job security at Luxoft ? HR mentioned 8 hours per day and no need to enter timesheet, time will be auto captured. That means like we can't be away from the system at all ? Please help.
Thanks

R1 check-in, hows everyone doing?
You’re going from a borderline M7 to a T25, thats a steep drop. Columbia will open doors that Gtown will never be able to, you’re also not that far away. I would look at employment reports but i would imagine they place very well on the east coast. I don’t see any scenario in my mind where this makes sense
100% choose Columbia. It will not be an issue to end up in DC or anywhere you want really with CBS
DC placement is very easy because it’s not nearly as competitive as places like NYC, SF, etc. Any M7 will easily get you a DC job.
I think Gtown does alright with those roles in DC but you will have no problem with CBS in DC. In fact, CBS will give you a strong brand advantage over gtown even if it’s DC.
I always assumed Darden was the best for getting DC jobs (other than maybe HSW) due to proximity and rank. Am I mistaken?
While I appreciate the rest of the comments on this thread that are overwhelmingly advocating for CBS, I don’t think this is as black or white as many would assume. Yes, CBS is a great bschool, Ivy League, etc etc. but Gtown is pretty solid as well. If you get a full ride and are gung ho about relocating to DC, then it makes a lot of sense. However, you should’ve applied to Darden if that was your target city. Darden places incredibly well in the DMV area - Gtown doesn’t come close.
Darden vs CBS for DC opps is a much more comparable choice (removing cost from the conversation). Personally, I would go Darden over CBS for DC.
But if you always wanted to try living in NYC, then CBS is the perfect excuse to do that before settling down in DC
Totally irrelevant but can we get a sneak peak into your stats?
Thanks!!!

Additionally, I'm looking for non-consulting general management/corporate development oppurtunities.
NYC is only about 2.5-4 hour amtrak away from DC, not like a Chi or SF to NYC difference. You’ll have no problem.
After the acceptance to CBS, the only reason Georgetown should be on your radar is for scholarship reasons.
Project leader at my boutique in DC went to CBS. He’s heavily involved in the tech startup space now, was also in “big consulting” beforehand - you’ll have no issue finding a job around here :)
It’s worth noting that OP is NOT returning to consulting or Ib, where they can make 170k+ immediately and for a couple years lot more.
Without understanding your financials OP, if Gtown gives a substantial scholarship but CBS does not, this decision becomes much more difficult.
CBS had great opportunities for GM and Corp dev. Can’t ignore the alum network either. Would choose CBS in a heartbeat.
