I am not a lawyer… but I am with Fivefran. If there was a company wide layoff, I don’t see how you link this to pregnancy discrimination. Maybe there is something you are leaving out that makes you think this.
I have a friend who was laid off on maternity leave. The entire team was laid off, so she was not being treated differently then anyone else.
Large organizations typically have a financial number they are trying to hit. They lay off until they hit the number. Some companies have patterns they follow like 1) Layoff everyone employed 1 year or less. 2) Layoff everyone who is 90% salary in their band.
Attorney time OP. Screenshot and forward all communication before you go
If you were performing well and had records of reviews I’d hire a lawyer
I regret not seeking out an employment attorney when my pay was cut the week that I told my last company I was pregnant. Don’t make the same mistake I did - go get a gut-check from a professional.
+1 to saving all correspondence before you go: previous performance reviews, feedback from managers/peers/direct reports, how and when you notified the company of your pregnancy.
I’m really sorry that you’re navigating this upheaval while growing a new human - you can definitely do hard things. Wishing you the best!
Thank you!
What's your company OP?
definitely consult an attorney before signing any severance
I’m not seeing the correlation here tbh
No correlation, companies lay off all the time. Discrimination implies unfair treatment or being singled out, which you weren’t if others throughout the organization got laid off.

Im sorry to hear that OP. I personally have not but might be prudent to contact an attorney
