Just got my comp review scheduled for Nov 10th and should be receiving a promotion to senior accountant. What should a reasonable comp adjustment be and how should I negotiate a higher one if I don't think the one is reasonable?

Given the year and industry, there is not going to be room to negotiate unless you have an offer in hand from elsewhere

What is a "comp review"? Is that when they tell you what your new comp will be? If so, imo that's too late to start negotiating. Budgets have been set and allocated by that time.

Wya in terms of location/work/firm? Most firms don’t have too much room for negotiating as they try to keep the same groups within the same pay bands.

Audit senior in Milwaukee? 65-68k

Totally depends on your current pay compared to the job market in your location for the senior position. I got promoted this year and got 0% (Europe).

Why wouldn’t you wait on it when they will give you a raise

Just told my fairly new bf how much I make and he makes 3 times of how much I’m making right now. I had a big career setback because of covid and my salary hasn’t increased for a while. He cares about money and being rich so much I feel like he might dump me at some point. I won’t be upset if he does because that’s on him, but I feel so insecure about how ridiculously poorly I’m doing in life:(. Just wanted to let it out

I worked hard at a small agency and was promoted from AE to AS after only 8 months in the industry. I had to leave and found a contract position as an AS at a large agency. I am finishing my contract and my boss offered me a permanent position, but wants me on as an AE. I am open to the AE position, but they are unwilling to compromise on the AE salary which is a substantial cut from my salary at my former agency and 45% of my contract pay. What do I do? Do I leave if I feel I deserve more?

Thinking about exiting consulting with 2YOE and would love to get perspective on what people felt like was the most important aspects to optimize for early in their career/life that has set them up for success in the long term - e.g. good manager, learning opportunities, level of ownership/responsibility, comp, or even better WLB to figure out their interests

Hey! Can anyone assist with what can be claimed as workers comp? I was at work when I had my first episode of vertigo. Everything was spinning, wouldn't stop, and I couldn't stand or sit. I was freaking out and asked to be rushed to ER. Work paid for the ambulance. No physical injury. Insurance apparently didn't cover emergency charges. The out of pocket expense is about $2.5k and was wondering if I can claim this as workers comp. Again, no physical injury though.

Is the main advantage of applying to mba early simply to literally start making more sooner? Is it easier when you’re younger? I’m fortunately not in a rush to apply and I think next year my app will be stronger, my income is not gonna be much higher post mba, I’ll have another promotion, better recs, and less debt to take on. What am I missing?
