How much time before the H1B expiry date (first three years) we need to initiate the process for the next extension?
FYI, for anyone interested in facts from a reputable publication This is the house response so far : “While I recognize the sincerity of all members and senators struggling to find solutions, unfortunately the provisions sent to the House by the Senate yesterday most likely make matters worse, not better,” said Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D., Calif.), chairwoman of the House Judiciary subcommittee on immigration, who sponsored the House bill. How do you tell if an employer is okay with visa sponsorship on linkedin job posting? Some employers clearly mention that they are okay with this. For the ones that don’t, how do you find this info? Is the default assumption that an employer doesn’t sponsor? Looking at product roles in tech/startups.
Does anyone know whether Deloitte would help to obtain LMIA when your work permit/visa is about to expire? I’m at the junior level and not eligible for any streams yet.
H1B transfer filed on Feb 4 with Vermont. Uscis site says they are processing cases from an year back. Need that transfer to get back to work. How long do you think I might have to wait?
I requested fragemon for details on the RFE(request for evidence) for my i140 green card application. They responded ‘We are not permitted to provide the RFE. The I-140 petition is Deloitte’s petition
Hello everyone, I am a Deloitte auditor and on a H-1b visa. My long term goal is to eventually go back to my home country. Should I still invest in Deloitte 401-k? I just want to know what the deductions are if and when I decide to go home and take the money. I don’t want to miss out on the match that Deloitte does but assessing if it’s worth it and if I will lose much of my money in taxes. Also I currently invest at home (fixed deposits) and get 6% returns. Thanks for any inputs in advance
Received initial recruiter email from Deloitte for Commercial Practices initial connect - What questions should I expect? 1 Current work experience 2 Visa status 3 About me Anyone who recently join this commercial practices? Thanks in advance
I'm marrying an american. Can you apply for the GC and spouse visa from europe? So that I can work immediately if we migrate back to the US?
Applied for a spouse visa, anyone have any ideas on how long it’s been typically taking? Website states 3-12 months so wondering if it’s been on the longer end or shorter end in the recent past!
H1b denied. I guess it's time to go back home. Does D. Help facilitate transfers to USI?
Hi friends, I’m in a bit of a dilemma, and was hoping for some feedback here. I am a Canadian citizen, and have been living and working in the US since 2017 on an L1A visa. I decided to pursue a GC about a year ago, and my company approved the process. Our immigration attorneys were far from helpful, and my case didn’t get very far. Fast forward a year, our company has been acquired, and my GC case has now been transferred to a new legal team. The process is basically restarting from scratch.
If we have an approved i140(Intend to immigrate), is it still possible to go back to f1 (non immigrant) visa and start a PhD program?
I got selected in the third round of H1B lottery for FY2022 (third round came out in November) Does anyone know when my H1B gets activated? Will it be automatically updated because it is well past Oct 1 or will it be Oct 1 2022??
Had to cancel my travel plan because of H1B application. Already booked tix to fly out of the country and feel so stupid now
H1B and MBA: I’m on H1B, planning to pause it for MBA on F1, and switch back to H1B after grad. I’ll have 3 years left after grad. Anyone has experience doing this/know anyone that has done this? Thanks!
🐠 from US interested to work in Australia or NZ. Any recommendations for companies looking for ex-consultants, that may sponsor work visa?
I’ve been contacted by a headhunter for a corporate strategy role at Visa. I only have 1 YOE in strategy consulting (focusing on CDDs). Any idea what this compensation package would look like?
Company refuses to file my i 140 as I have about 1.5 years left on my visa. 6 year term. Thinking of moving back to India. Any thoughts on salaries in india currently? Where could I explore getting these numbers from?
What is your firm’s paternity leave policy?
I'm looking for Bluetooth wireless headset for taking zoom, teams call which has great noise cancellation features (voice) and is compatible with laptop without any USB dongle. Have gone through so many reviews, but didn't help. What are you using folks?
Is it worth taking a GCP TAM role as an L4 with 8 YOE. I made Manager at Deloitte last year and have worked in cloud consulting for the last 5 years, I had made it very clear to the recruiter that I’m looking for an L5 and even with interviews going really well they came back with you would be really strong at L4 so we recommend going into HC with that. Feeling very demotivated and frustrated tbh because after all the effort I’ll have to start where juniors with 4 YOE are staring at GCP Google
Transportation and Warehouse OHSA cases of lost days from work, what is a bad number to have? OSHAs last work injury summary says 2.1 per 100 employees.
Anyone on that CFE grind?
How do you actually pass the Oracle Certification exams? The training videos are, let’s be honest, complete garbage. Is there some studying resource I’m missing?
Final 2021 comp numbers coming out from the large investment banks with VP comp now up to seven figures. Why did I become a lawyer again?
Hi Everyone, I am new to this platform but was silently observing the post here, need some guidance and support on career change. I come from Non-Tech (Non BE, B.Tech degree) and have been working in Support (Back office) role in Domain ranging from Logistics, Insurance and Reinsurance. From last 1 years I've been upskilling for Cloud (AWS) and DevOps (Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker etc) and currently looking for a change.
Currently at 2.5 yoe. Is it worth it to apply for strategy associate/analyst positions or business analyst positions, etc? Hoping to find a high growth position that pays well
I’m seriously starting to feel like “corporate diversity” means let’s hire more white women
I’m accepting a job offer tomorrow, and the new company has 5 less PTO days per year than my current company, and it’s prorated based on my start date. I have my full year planned out with my current PTO schedule, and the majority of my PTO is in the latter half of my year (1 week vacation, 3 days for sisters bachelorette party, 2 days for 2 separate wedding out of town). We already negotiated, and I feel bad going back to ask for more PTO, but I need it. What would you do? How to approach?
I’m getting a bit tired of rotating between “hey all/folks/team”, what are some other gender neutral replacements for “hey guys”?
My comp talk this year is titled "compensation and career discussions." Probably reading into the last part too much but that isn't anything to be worried about, right?
I have social anxiety and I feel like I am being punished because of that. I am not being promoted and was told to work on confidence even though my technical performance was outstanding. I wished I can just "work on my confidence" and boom. But it's not gonna happen like that. Diversity has been the hot topic these days. Why do we view shy people, introverts, socially anxious people as less capable? Should I accept that PA is not for me or can I do something to contribute?
Who’s an account executive? It seems like this is an extremely popular and challenging role in sales. Let’s all discuss what we sell, what company we work for, our OTE and if we like our current employer and if we don’t like them what do you wish would change? Let’s specify if we are mid market, enterprise etc. so we can see how the comp compares. Are the goals they set for commission and bonus realistic? I’m an AE as well my title for some reason is taking forever to update.
Moving from consulting to engineering? Started out in CS and had internships and a short job as an engineer before I moved into consulting. I have been enjoying in a lot but am scared that I won’t be able to move back into engineering if I stay too long. Anyone have similar experience or advice? Have I already made myself a worse candidate by taking a non-engineering role or can I say that it allowed me to bolster my soft skills?
Gun to your head, which B4’s tax practice (non-specialty) is the worst in the Northeast?
