I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

Didn’t realize one needed a visa to work in Tennessee. :-)
How were you not working and living on the states?
@ATK1 Yah man it's a diff world down there
@PM1 My OPT expires this month and I didn't get the H1B this yr
Tennessee is basically a foreign country. #letthemsecede
How long did it take? Just got an email request for more docs but am expecting to get my TN soon too...
Did you guys get paid less compared to other types of visa or nationalities?
Yay congrats! Let’s hope it lasts!
OP, how did you get your TN visa? I have the canadian PR, would talking to my firm help? And are you employed by Deloitte Canada or US?
@DD1 the Deloitte lawyers took ~a week to prepare all my docs and ship them to me. I went to the US/CA point of entry to apply, took 30 min, and received a TN stamp immediately
@FSC1 I THINK this visa is only for CA and MX citizens. I would definitely email Deloitte's law firm to double check. I'm employed by Deloitte US
^ Yes, it’s only for Canadian or Mexican citizens. You need to be employed by a US office, unless you’re employed by a Canadian office that needs to send you to the US for some sort of assignment.
Hey D, I’m having trouble filing under premium processing. Do you have a burner? Would love to know what docs you got ready- I see a lot of info online, but would love to know a real approved case!
DD1 - hey there. I don’t think you need premium processing - you go to the border and, if approved, you’ll get your visa immediately. I followed everything my lawyers said and just brought the package they prepared on my behalf. I’d recommend emailing them to prepare a similar package for you
They denied me under premium processing. Ok, I’ll speak to the lawyers and get them to prepare a package for me. Out of curiosity, was it easy? Did you bring all your stuff w you?
It was easy with the package from the lawyers. I forgot to bring my diploma, but was still able to get the visa
