After 3 years, during a termination session, the therapist disclosed she’s in the same recovery program I’m in. At the start of the work, her knowledge of the program, local meetings, and some of the things she suggested reading had lead to fast trust, which was good. But at some point my suspicions about the source of her wisdom made me overly curious and feel, simultaneously and occasionally, like there was a deeper bond. Now I keep wondering about her story. Bugs me, but don’t wanna go back.
Take the meds they gave you! Rest up and take it easy for a day or two 💛
You might have dry socket, go get it checked out. Also you can get meds
Thanks SA1! My cheeks are huge too and my throat hurts when I swallow, which I guess is because of the swelling. I’ll call the doc. Appreciate your advice
Take the meds and see if that help....hopefully not dry socket. Brings memories back of my extractions....was an SA at the time and chose to do it under local anesthetic with laughing gas so I could minimize downtime and grogginess from going under. It was an experience..will never forget the dentist saying “I’m going to break your tooth in half now and you will feel a lot of pressure but no pain”.
He said that to me too!! I could hear the cracking. Gives me goosebumps when I think of it
Will echo what others have said - call your dentist. When I had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted, I had virtually no pain for the first 24h. I know others that have said the same, so this sounds like something you should have checked further.
Another note - I got a nasty infection that started around 24h and pain peaked around 48-72h. It required some strong antibiotics and about a week to overcome. It's likely too early for an infection to take hold in your case, but it's something to be aware of moving forward. Good luck!
Thank you P1. I’m calling the doc. Appreciate your advice
When I did this I was given Vicodin (which didn't go well), then switched to Tylenol with Codeine. Strong stuff. Only felt a little bit of pain in between doses. I think I was off the meds in 3 days. And I was back to working out in 3-4 days.
Please call your dentist if you're experiencing ANY issues. That is what they are there for.
They should have given you expectations around pain medication and pain management, typical healing process, etc.
Only a couple of teeth were slightly impacted. I'm sure everyone experiences different levels of pain and periods of healing.
Thanks C1 and SA1
I echo what the others have said - talk with your dentist. When I got my wisdom teeth removed, I don’t even remember the pain - the taste of death in my mouth was the worst part of recovery.
