100k for MCOL? That’s good if you an S1/ no experience
Subject Expert
Honestly after being in FDD and seeing the hours I would not do this job for 100 k
BDO has better balance, great pay and great team environment. DM me with any questions.
I make $117k as an S2 in HCOL.
I would think $100k is pretty reasonable for MCOL

I got 105K with 20K sign on bonus. Whatchu crying about
Dm for referral to bdo to get better offer hopefully
KPMG not understanding what yoe means in fdd 🫣 (heard about relevant yoe?)
123 FDD at PwC for MCOL. 129 HCOL.
Come to PwC if you want a raise. Economy isn’t great but we’ll definitely not turn away folks in the deal realm based on my experience with refers/recruiting. Worth interviewing because you have 6 months / know what the group entails. That’s a pretty lowball figure GT is offering, B4 is guaranteed 115 S1 comp. We just had our yearly raises / cohort adjustments a month ago, so probably why we’re leading the arena in comp.
@EY1 Not meant to sound bad haha. It’s a hardworking group but tons of compliance folks (mostly from the audit portal) flock to the group because better exit ops, pay, and more interesting work. You’re at a big 4 firm, you’re going to work hard… but no set busy season is somewhat attractive compared to the likes of a dark set time when you need to tell your s/o’s to find something else to do while your mindlessly grinding away from Jan to Apr (and other times throughout the year). I’m not in FDD either (in another advisory group), but I’m advocating on behalf of them because it’s way better than getting stuck and herded like cattle in a SALY role
That’s more then I was making as an M1 pre-COVID. How the world changes so fast, but I was underpaid lol
What’s FDD?
Hi, we are creating online courses about what TS/FDD is here: dealsinterviewexperts.com
Currently working on the English version but feel free to have a look at the Spanish one / book a session.
Yea that’s pretty on the nose for S1. Would recommend trying to get a sign on bonus.
$100k base and prob $10-$15k bonus. You’re there, pretty fair for a new Senior.
For context I was given $115 base as a new manager this time last year. Multiple adjustments up since then, but you’re in the wheel house.
Granted GT used to not have great bonuses at all (given still low especially compared to boutiques), but VP in here telling someone with an actual GT flair what their comp is. Lmao

It’s not bad at all for MCOL! Which office is it?
Wow… 100k is 130k in HCOL, f* you and congrats
Do you have any FDD experience going in? Coming out of audit? Other?
DM for BDO referral - you will be better off than GT and better balance than B4 where I was for 10 years.
Lucky u got an offer
Most firms are hiring S1 with prior FDD experience and not just audit experience. Congrats bud
For MCOl this is not low but average. If you are not happy why dont you counter with 115k. GT these days are desperately looking to hire fdd experienced personell
$100K for an S1 in MCOL is super reasonable. Doesn’t hurt to counter though.
I got 110 for accounting advisory with 10k sign on MOCL. Argue for more.
S1 with 2 yrs of experience.
DM for more info on GT
EY finds out compensation this Friday so you’ll have a good sense whether the GT offer is fair or not. And can probably leverage the GT offer to get more $ and stay at EY.
