Highly recommend going to Nordstrom Rack & Marshall’s! I found my parka for under $100 and it’s kept me cozy even in Chicago weather
Second Marshall’s. My parka is on year 5 and going strong in the Chicago winter.
I’m all about ballin on a budget, so I vote Old Navy.
North face has great relatively affordable options!
Good news for you is this is prime parka discount season!
Also, no one looks THAT cute in a parka, so go for warmth first and foremost.
Eddie Bauer's
Second Eddie Bauer. Also got a parka from Banana republic outlet last year for $70 so worth checking online
I just went to Nordstrom and got a super cute winter jacket for 60% off. I’d check out the sales there again- plus you can return it at any time if you decide you don’t like it
Welcome to da burgh! Remember to always check the weather! Hardest thing will be trying to pack the variety of outfits to accommodate the changes in weather. Maybe everywhere this year but esp here - it goes from 70 to 16 in two days. Enjoy!
A long, down, hooded (or high necked) parka is what you need! I got mine at north face but Canadian goose is a popular option as well (but very expensive)
I got mine from Zara on sale and I love it!
J. Crew, J. Crew Factory, and Boden have some awesome coats on sale right now. Old Navy is usually good but I wasn’t impressed with their selection this year. For boots, look for something cute & waterproof to wear to/from the office - Hunter and J Crew make some cute Chelsea-style boots with lug soles that are safe & non-slippery.
Uniqlo has good winter down coats. For around $150 and it’s good quality and lasts. Highly recommend (I use this as my travel coat when I don’t want to use my designer winter coat)
Thank you all so much for the advice! What kind of shoes do you guys recommend? It’s going to be snowing when I will be there next week and I don’t know what kind of shoes I can get that are comfortable, waterproof, and work appropriate.
