It’s time for me to move on from my back office/CBS job at EY. I’ve been able to get through to recruiter and hiring manager screening round with FAANG employers and some tech companies but never beyond that. How can I differentiate myself when I’m probably also up against our client facing colleagues in consulting. I have about 12 years experience (7 at EY doing the same thing).

Can't tell if Deloitte people just love trolling their noobs or if it's actually that f'd up over there. If counselor actually means something, wouldn't you expect a newly assigned counselor to set up a catch up with their new counselee in order to, you know, get to know them, do their job as counselor, etc?

@ D3 LOL! good scaring tecniques. Did not have the best year performance wise and that was part of the conversation; that is why I did not know what to expect but overall good meeting!

I'm at 90% utilization now and had a decent year end, but you never now. It is a dial-in. She was just assigned as my counselor today so it would be weird if she would let me go... will keep everyone posted.
if she's assigned as your counselor literally today then it's over boyo. That's probably to make the exit by the book. HR will probably be on the call as a witness. Id be scared poopless
OP: did you update your resume besides taking back up? When is the meeting? Given that a partner is ur counselor-- I assume you are a SM or a director... it can go both ways.. usually counselors are not on. All when someone is let go!!!.. you still have hope ... good luck !!
What level are you? If you are a M/SM do you think it's just a new counselor assignment? Curious to see how this spans out.
This doesn't make any sense. New counselor that wants to "catch up"...?
