Just had a pitch meeting, but didn’t close. They like me and they said that I’m good at self-reflection and that I implemented their critiques from the first call where they deliberately set me up to fail. Do I have a shot at still getting this or am I dead in the water?

I think you still have a shot, especially if they said you were good at self-reflecting. That humility and coachablity is key for sales

It sounds good but I would approach any company that includes deliberately setting you up to fail in the interview process with caution. That would be a red flag for me

Why’s that?

Bank your shot on the positive things they liked about you. They did give a comment. I'm quite concerned if they're being close-minded when they mentioned they set you up to fail but try if you were able to change their minds. Goodluck!

They hired another guy with a background in economics.

Thoughts on the recent biopharma market correction? (Admittedly its market-wide). Will this influence consulting firms in any way? I graduated with my MBA in finance in 2020 and began working at a bank as a Management Trainee. 2 years later, I am an assistant to a financial advisor studying to become a financial advisor. However, I have to do this on MY time and not the bank's.
I am not in a Management position, I make as much as a teacher in a good district and I just don't feel my overall self worth at this job. Does anyone have any advice that can help this situation?

I have offers from both United Health Group and Atlassian for a Senior Financial Analyst position. Similar Comp (Atlassian slightly higher due to stock options). Coming from another healthcare company as a SFA, does anyone have experience at either company? In the long term, does Atlassian look better on a resume/work experience due to the Tech/Software space? Seems like their culture is great, but a much higher work load due to the nature of the company. Thanks! Happy to answer DM's too

Hi!Would like to get some perspectives on the Walmart and Amazon offers that I just received. Slightly more interested in Amazon Fashion's work but it's offered at $80K less than Walmart...
A few questions here:
1) Is the Amazon brand better than Walmart that's worth $80K in TC?
2) Are Strategy roles better perceived than Marketing roles and will have higher long-term pay potential? (I went to business school where almost everybody wants to do Strategy...)
3) Is Amazon culture very concerning?

I love international tax (in core) and don’t mind compliance at all but it’s been nearly 100% of what I do. Any ways of balancing out with more structuring/planning?

Some background: there’s only 3 of us IT locally and with the departure of our SM, the little structuring/planning work I do see will probably dry up when they leave. Do I network with other bigger offices to pick up that kind of work?

Here's a question, I see that you can apply to jobs with just your resume, and there isn't an opportunity to include a cover letter. This astounds me because that's really where a business can learn your values and what you can offer them. Does anyone recommend a way around this? I thought about uploading a two page resume with the cover letter included. It seems a loss not to include that edge.
