My organization absorbed another and the former deputy PM became a branch head - a demotion. For org was more focused on tech dev and not delivering a product on a sked. New org is very focused on that. He is not a driving leader, but is the only one with the tech knowledge needed. He is retirement eligible. He has no heir apparent - previous org didn’t plan that way. If I move him under someone who is a driver - he retires and I lose the knowledge. If I don’t, we may not meet schedules. Advice?

When hired I was told that this role would do a lot of different projects and skys the limit but after 7 months, I’ve been doing 1 project and when asking about role expansion essentially told to stay in my lane. I saw that one of the traffic sources for a recent YouTube video we shared is “YouTube Advertising” even though we haven’t put paid support into it. When I asked the person featured in the video if his team had anything to do with it, he said that they’ve been promoting it on YouTube with paid efforts. How is this possible? Are you allowed to promote a video through paid if it’s not on your own channel? I’m still new to the field so maybe it’s something simple I’m not getting.

Strategists: How many hours do you typically work? I work 8-9hrs/day pretty consistently, but the creatives work much longer hours. Can’t tell if it’s my agency, my work efficiency, etc.

I recently started a new job in a marketing department that had a lot of change and turn over the past 6 months. Digging through some of the social media spend, in totality we've spent 120k on LinkedIn ads with 185 conversions. Total. We've spent another 59k on FB/Meta ads with piss poor results and I'm about to look at twitter.
