Or they're lying about their rating
I was a staff 2 in FSO Advisory and I was laid off due to low utilization. My first year with the firm I was rated a 5 but that rating dropped to a 2 by the end of my second year due to a lack of projects (even tho my feedback on the engagements I did have was very positive). Severance was 4 weeks.
Standard low performers. Not mass layoffs like at other firms
Utilization makes up a large part of rating at EY
I mean, this makes sense. We just had our performance reviews and it was a bad year. People who got 2s probably deserved 1s in all honesty due to the project rating inflation that goes on as well as the fact that you need documented proof of awful behavior to even give someone a project rating of 2.
You don't get 2s for low utilization unless you weren't doing shit while on the bench
Well I did everything right but my case coincided with Pwc laying off massively. So yes you do get a low rating for utilization
The person I heard about had a 4 YE rating and was highly utilized.
No way they were laid off then
You never know
Adios amigo
Shit...
Just a general question, rising staff 2 here, if you're staffed on something through December can they really give you the axe?
Ey6 did you get a 3,4,5 on your year end?
Ey5 yes
You'll probably be okay then. Maybe reach out to your counselor if you're super worried
EY6.. It happened to me at Pwc. I had the project till the end of the year atleast but got the axe because my last year's utilization wasn't great
No one does anything while on the bench. The problem is that everyone charges campaign codes since no one monitors them.
You have to be doing something really wrong, not receiving proper coaching, not giving or receiving timely feedback to get a 2 or below.. You have to know you aren't meeting clients/project team expectations
