B1, many firms do have a Managing Director type role, which is for someone that is generally an industry hire with lots of experience or is too old to be in the partnership. Get paid like a partner but don’t have equity. However, a non-equity partner is like saying I have a 🚗 but it doesn’t have an axle, an engine or a cupholder...missing key components to make it a 🚗 .

At K advisory, it's Associate, Senior Associate, Manager, Director, Managing Director, Partner. We don't call MD's "Director" for short, we call them MD's lol. Completely possible to make >200 as a Director here... I'm a second year M at 163 so that seems within reach given that most people stick at M for 3-5 years. It just depends on the practice and what your sales credit was for the year... 200 is pushing it but completely possible I'd say.

A post that just said you had gotten promoted would have earned you genuine and heartfelt congratulations. But starting with "just hit 200k base" is going to get you a bunch of sick measuring responses.

like

OP is KPMG. They have directors instead off SMs. Congrats though.

like

0. We don’t have the director position. Congrats OP

like

Odds OP is Deloitte? 😅

like

D1 must be drunk. We not only have director. We have 2 types of directors.

like

But they’re not called Director. They’re called managing director, etc. and they would have hit 200k before that.

IMO - that’s just silly. Either you’re a partner or your not. What does it mean “non-equity partner”? That’s a senior director then, or whatever you wanna call it, not partner

Get the measuring device out again.... 9"!

Hahahaha the big ampersand this is the first time I've heard that

like

Directors at D are 'Managing Directors' and usually are 350k base, so pretty sure OP isn't at D

like

We have Bain have those as well, but they are called Advisors :) But precisely as you made it - non-equity partner is like saying, by engine-less car :)

like

Pretty slim, Slalom, our promotions were last month. 🙄

like

Congrats OP, hopefully you weren't underpaid as an M.

like

They literally just changed it to MD in the last year and they are still commonly referred to as ‘Director’.

like

Strategy& also has directors

like

M1, we do, but their base salary is standardized and starts higher than 200. PwC has directors as well, but promotions were a few months ago. Probably not Pdubs or the big Ampersand.

Hi Friends, I need urgent help. Suppose in experience letter my designation is test specialist but in candidate form of EY I gave senior test specialist. Will it be problem? Actually after getting promotion I thought I became senior test specialist so gave senior test specialist in EY form. As next band is for senior people and I wrote as senior test specialist. But later I saw it was test specialist designation in my current company. Will that create problem in verification?

Finished my MBA and recieved a Senior Consultant offer from EY (3YOE). The pay (90 base+ 10 signing) is what I was making in manufacturing ops pre-MBA (with a guaranteed raise of 10% every year). Which is better a “senior consultant” at EY or “Project Manager” at a local large organization? I’m currently a business analyst and recently k was offered a promotion to Project Manager. Meanwhile, I got another offer from EY as a Senior Consultant My current company are willing to match EY offer and they want me to stay. Part of me wants to join EY as it’s a big name on the resume and I can learn a lot from it BUT another part of me wants the PM and comfort zone in my current job. Thanks
