No promotion. That’s the case for a lot of first years, especially since staffing has been such an issue.

They will probably make you wait a year, and that's good. Be the strongest staff, not the weakest senior.

like

I would be very surprised if you got early promoted from staff 1 to senior 1. I've never heard of that happening

like

Expecting a promotion? To be totally honest I’m not sure if I’m ready to be a full on senior. I’ve gotten like zero sleep this last month & I still need to sit for the CPA. 😬

like

Also you would have had to express to your coach that you were interested in an early promotion, someone would have to be campaigning for you hella hard/there’d have to be a solid business reason (ie literally no seniors in the office) and it would have come up to you in conversation. Early promotions don’t just “happen"

like

I definitely was hoping they would wait a year. I met with my coach yesterday and he asked how I felt about advancement and my exact answer was I wasn’t expecting advancement until next fall or the fall after. So unless the seniors I work with get promoted to manager ... I don’t see it happening. I just went into a bit of a panic mode since he brought it up.

It happens pretty often at BDO, and GT (my prior firm). But normally, no, the firms want to eke more work out of you without paying you as much..

That’s pretty normal for a second year staff to have some in-charge responsibilities.

Hey guys.
Anyone working here as technical writer in automobile domain? If so, how is the scope in this field? I am asking this because currently I am thinking of switching to a different field due to low pay and lack of growth (thats what I heard). Anyone please suggest me if it is worth continuing in this field since I am an entry level candidate.
Thank you.
