Attending Appalachian State University for athletic reasons as I played baseball here. Will finish my degree in Supply Chain Management in December. I want to break into consulting in the supply chain and operations sector in NYC. I would love to connect with anyone in Big 4 - Deloitte , KPMG, PwC, EY and MBB to get some insight on the college recruiting cycle coming up. Currently have a 3.81 GPA, family startup company experience, and restaurant industry experience.
Hi folks. Looking to break into consulting. Have 5 years of experience across financial institutions in the US, Pakistan and Canada. I have previously interviewed at BCG in Chicago and even though I didn’t clear final round, I thoroughly enjoyed the process. Finally in a position to be able to consider this again. Would any of the MBB / Big 4folks be willing to chat/refer me? 🙏🙏🙏 McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group KPMG Deloitte PwC EY

Ironically, it has the opposite effect if you are woman.
I’m sure you’ve met at least one smart woman. Intelligence is complex and yet it isn’t everything you need in a partner.

Good for you, I guess that’s the value you get in lieu of a proper bonus…

That’s actually very cool! Enjoy the dates ☺️
You went PM to consulting? Whyyyy. That’s backward af my guy. Also, zero people care about consulting or MBB outside this app. They probably like that you’re gone often and too busy to reply to texts.
MBB is way less cringe than any FAANG other than netflix
A) wtf is MBB. B) I agree with the other commenter, dude seems insecure about your job. It's true men don't care about your job as long as your job is about the same level or below theirs (source: am a dude). For me personally, I like successful women, but I feel that women that are really successful are striving for something even better either income or status wise, which is admittedly a bit intimidating, not knowing if I can meet their high expectations.

An MBB? 🧐

Phew thought it was M for a second
TIL: MBB = FAANG of consulting I’d still take FAANG though, mainly because of higher salaries
MBB salaries are pretty well known. The typical progression out of UG: Starting comp out of UG: BA making 100K + 30K bonus, 10-33% raises every year 3 YOE: engagement manager making 250K, 10-33% raises every year After 2-3 years as an engagement manager (so 5-6 YOE after undergrad): Associate Partner making 500-700K with 10-33% raises every year After 2-4 years as associate partner (so 7-11 years out of UG): partner making $1MM-2MM After 5+ years as partner: you can make senior partner where the sky is the limit ($10MM+ very possible for people leading offices, heading practices, etc) Basically consulting pays off if you get in early, but not if you get in with more than a couple years WE. Perks are on a similar level to Google, just different. Like I don’t have an in-house gym, but I do have access to private investment vehicles not available to people outside the firm. My food costs are generally lower than when I was at Google bc I’m traveling a lot and literally spend no money from Monday morning to Friday afternoon. The airline and hire points are nice, going to get a couple free vacations every year as a result. 401K is an automatic 7.5-10% add (no match required) depending on the firm. Health insurance is much better here (although Google was good…) So tldr no. It’s probably a negative NPV for you to switch. It’s probably a positive NPV for someone coming out of undergrad. This also depends on firm. A McKinsey EM makes less than a BCG PL for example, but a McKinsey senior partner is going to make a lot more than a BCG MD on average.
