Companies need to not dilute diversity with this whole diversity of thought jibberish - there are real issues re: bias, race, gender and respect in the workplace. Education around how to build better
Best consulting firms for real inclusion?
Tryin to see which companies are gay-friendly. How’s your company giving importance to diversity and inclusion nowadays?
Curious what everyone’s caseloads look like in their district if you are a resource room teacher. Do you have 504’s and IEP’s on your caseload?
Need a few good questions for a micro-aggressions webinar I’m hosting.. any one of you done this before or have any ideas? Planning to touch upon various types of micro-aggressions such as race, religion, gender, religion, age, title etc.
Have you ever had a wonderful mentor (either male/ female /gender fluid) how do(did) you show your appreciation for them taking the time to guide you?
Hi! Has anyone completed the diversity and inclusion certificate online through Cornell university? Thoughts? Worth it? Helpful in your career? Thanks!!
Which firm takes inclusion the most serious?
Sick of corporate crap, considering going from a big company to contractor designer. Diversity experience, portfolio and less excel and meetings a day. Does anyone have anything to share on that?
Does anyone have a diversity focused recruiter that they like? I’m tired of the lip service that my current employer pays to diversity and inclusion but don’t want to jump right over to somewhere worse. Thoughts?
Is there a better city than the A in terms of diversity, cost of living, weather, airport, and overall stuff to do (nightlife, outdoors)? Some contenders (although doesn’t fit every category) include Dallas, Houston, Austin, Philly, Chicago, NOLA, some FL cities, Seattle, Denver, & Phoenix in my opinion
Feeling stuck. I’m in my third role since graduating college 4 years ago. In each one, a quickly showed I’m capable, professional, and a high achiever (like many others here), but I haven’t really moved forward professionally. In each role, I was a leader in my cohort, got excellent reviews, and found great mentors in my superiors, but it hasn’t translated to promotions or raises. Sometimes I feel like my age/gender get in the way and people have a “wait your turn” mentality. Any advice?
It’s 2020, are men still expected to pay on the first date or is it acceptable to split 50-50? Not trying to start a whole debate on modern gender dynamics, I just need practical advice.
My agency leadership is a Boys’ Club (...nothing new). Female leaders are not appreciated nor given any opportunity for advancement. Any agencies out there with a “no gender bias” leadership? 🤞🏻
Looking for idea driven copy writers, ACD and CD level for health & wellness accounts. Not typical pharma projects, with lots of opportunities to work on meaningful assignments that address diversity and inequities. If you are interested in learning more please drop me a DM. NY based is preferred but open to fully remote too.
What are your honest thoughts about gender inequality in the industry? Do you think gender has something to do with how far you go or is it just a matter of hard work?
Is there a way to find out the gender of the baby if I am still in my early 1st trimester? Like heart beat, my reaction to food, haha... an impatient mom...
Any recommendations for a full time position in Diversity and Inclusion? Unsure if positions like this exist versus a committee being an extra thing you do on top of your full time role.
What are most 2nd and 3rd year litigation associates at small/boutique sized firms making in the SF Bay Area? Helpful if you specify defense/plaintiff side, base salary, benefits, bonus, billable requirements, and would also be interested to know gender/ethnicity (for pay-gap purposes) if comfortable sharing. Asking because I think this kind of (anonymous) transparency helps us all in advocating for fair compensation for ourselves.
Anyone have EY's PBB percentages last year? Those are based on your current salary, not your salary come October, correct?
Has anyone sent out a survey about remote or Covid-19 job burnout/employee well-being that they can possibly share the template questions with me? I found the results for a survey sent out at Deloitte but didn’t have success at looking at some of the questions that were used. Any help would be incredibly appreciated!
I’m taking a few calls for new opps at a couple different firms and wanted to get a pulse on feelings from folks who actually work there to help me narrow it down. Agencies are: Weber Shandwick, Ruder Finn, FleishmanHillard and a smaller boutique called LifeSci Communications. From The sounds of other threads on here, I’m nervous about WS. Looking for a read on Work/Life balance, how well staffed they are, avg pay range (VP level), PTO/holidays/benefits, etc. So, how do you like working there?
Let’s discuss gender pay gaps by assessing our own discrepancies. I’ll start. I’m a 29 YO female, almost 6 years experience total, at a 115 base, guaranteed 126 if I meet utilization, with potential for more bonus. No target school or MBA. I’m happy with where I’m at, but are my male counterparts on here making more or relatively the same?
So managers, when someone really smart is working for you, how you do you balance your personal interest (him/her continuing to work for you) and giving them an opportunity to flourish outside your team if it becomes available? My manager just made a comment about a colleague who is honestly great and deserving of a promotion, but that would mean he leaves our team.
Anyone have an idea on total comp for product manager roles (Grade 70) at Philips? Role is Cambridge / Boston based, non-tech and in one of their health tech BUs.
Have your firms and companies begin to worry about your new hires over the next 1 to 5 years. Every one from the class of 2020 to the class of 2024 that went to brick & mortar colleges is negatively impacted in their overall education experience. So we should expect those grads to require special care when they join the workplace. We should also expect many tier 3, and some tier 2 universities to also struggle financially as remote learning becomes a more formidable competitor.
Let’s hear some stories of adversity and overcoming challenges. Socioeconomic, race, gender, disability etc. Work or personal. I think we all need some inspiration that we can overcome, no matter what.
Will be at 9 YOE with an MBA for promotion to Manager. What is an appropriate (or typical) title to get for F500 company for an exit?
Dear sharks! Help me with online/ classroom MBA program that could be attended during weekends. YOE: 6.5 Role: Project Manager I don’t want to quit my job and pursue full time.
More and more colleagues are claiming that bringing a job offer from the competition is the fastest way to get a promotion from mgr to sr mgr and/to MD, do you agree?
Anyone in CBS (non-client serving) know about annual raises? I recently moved from client serving to a CBS position, and I know we don't get PBB but I'm curious about any potential COL/similar raises.
Should I be maxing out my 401k if I’m able to? I’m 25 and don’t have an immediate need for cash, aside from wanting to buy a house in the next 5 or so years.
Looking for advice. I moved to US just a few years ago and hence don't have much of a network. How do I go about finding a new job? Applying on LinkedIn/career pages is doing nothing to get interviews
