I have no clue 🙂 but just popped in to say "Congratulations! Nicely done"

More appropriately asked on a KPMG bowl.

Meanwhile, I have no idea how we’re supposed to answer that question knowing nothing about your situation.

Of course you’ll know in a month or less, so…

Congrats

Probably should think whether you need to buy in first as that will hit before any pay increase

Like your APs, I think.

A lot and not enough

Congratulations! I hope you took some time to celebrate!

if you’re homegrown you should be hitting the low 300s , if you came in as an experienced hire it could be closer to 350-400. All depends on where you were at as a director.

also in consulting , wish that would have been reflected on my experiences hire director who to get a raise

I'd say about a 30 percent bump on average

Does MD is KPMG have signature authority and can take leadership role? For example talent leader or market offering leader? Thanks

100% accurate. Absolutely can have alliance and Community Leader roles.

And yes, MD is supposed to transition you to partner, and those roles are useful ways to her there.

Do people tend to age out of wanting to FIRE?

In your 20s-30s, you don’t know much, you’re told what to do, you have few financial resources so you are tied to your job. Under these circumstances it makes perfect sense why you would want to FIRE asap.

But eventually you advance up the ladder, you are now the boss and your people do all the grunt work. You also have built up expertise which makes the job easier. And you are making the best money of your life. FIRE is no longer so pressing.

Is there a general expectation that a Partner has an MBA?

I doubt it's required at most firms but I'm a pretty senior staff and when I speak with Partners, they seem to speak with an MBA level of business knowledge which extends past their technical skillset.

I realize that's what makes them good Partners but it makes me wonder if I realistically need to get an MBA to keep growing and hit Partner.

Do folks have trusted/valuable resources for researching luxury family travel with young kids? I don’t care the cost, I want to know what is most convenient and nice for my family. Feel like generally most resources are geared to either a) families on a budget (I don’t care which hotel is best bang for buck w/mid breakfast) or b) couples / adults only travelers. Do folks just stick to true five star hotel concierges for help? Do folks just book luxury tours like A&K? How do folks research?

I feel a little crazy saying this, but more money at this point doesn’t resonate. I see a ton of exit planning and boomerang threads here, but I’d take a 50% pay cut (or a 50% raise) for an exciting role. That’s totally privilege talking, but I just can’t imagine chasing extra money in PE or lateraling just for the money. No virtue signaling here at all. I actually worry on some level that I’m somehow a moron for not giving a thought to maximizing earnings.

How much cash do you keep in bank accounts? I have 50% in RE, 25% in market through retirement and education accounts and 25% in cash. Always think it’s too much cash but have never been able to gather courage to put more than 25% in market which I already have through 401K and 529. Any ideas on what to do with money just sitting in the bank earning no interest with 9% inflation eroding the value every single day

Huge thanks to all who weighed in on my weight loss post. Have peloton-ed and cut late night food and can see results - with Wegovy as a backup. Thanks to all who commented. Next question - has anybody with larger male body (big shoulders barrel chested long torso short legs wide feet) found high end clothing that fits? I find luxury brands are limited, made for 5’5” androgynous 125 lb men. Tired of wearing overly baggy stuff. Ralph Lauren has been best so far with XXL slim fit. Thoughts?

While Deloitte is not publishing real numbers of female leaders leaving the firm, I can tell you it’s nothing I have ever seen before. Hi I moved overseas 7 years ago and am ready to move back to the US. I am in advisory and would appreciate some insight into what comp looks like at the moment at partner level. Can you share any of the following: comp, city, years of experience, specialty, employer to help guide my job search?

How do you deal with partners trying to get on top of you? (Not literally 😂) someone gets to be a “relationship partner” and you are the one to do the work. I don’t need anyone on top of me managing relationships while I do the work. How do you address it?
