It’s not just you, especially after so many people left the city and all of us lost touch with folks during a long lockdown. I’m trying to rekindle an old D&D group next year, hoping that shared interests can bring back friendly rhythms

I might be into it.
I think you have to make an effort to foster friendships here. I tend to organise a lot of events/host drinks etc. to connect and keep in touch with all of my friends. It seems to work well.
If you need to meet people, while it sounds totally lame, meetup groups work really well here.
Moved here 2 months ago and Meetup indeed works well. Really diverse audience too which at first seems unusual but then it makes it unique
Would love to get a drink with you! ☺️
It’s difficult - a lot of my friends with kids have left, so I’m trying to make new friends again! Being all spread out and working from home makes it even harder. I’m in Manhattan.
35F, I'll be your friend.
Feel you - I’m in my 30s and I moved back here in 2021 and literally all of my friends have moved away. If people want to grab drinks some time (say the weekend after thanksgiving), I’d be down

Friday or Saturday next weekend somewhere in Chelsea/West Village?

I’m in Hudson Yards, hanging out in Chelsea and WV a lot. I’m down!

What part of the city?
I’m in town tomorrow until Thursday and will be near Gramercy if you’re down for drinks
I moved to Jersey City from out of state at the same time - have made exactly zero friends between work and COVID. Would be happy to go get a drink and a snack with you. I'm happy to get out wherever in the city
What my college friends and I do is get together for certain events like a common hobby. For us its going to wrestling events. For my other group it's going golfing. I would say it's about once every couple of months but we all have families so I look at it as quality over quantity.

It’s the in frequentness for me too. I suppose being on my own, there is only so much independence I can take without meaningful socialization.
it’s real. same boat as you, moved here pre covid and planted some social roots. then covid arrived, swinging it’s axe.
shared workplace is a big factor. it’s where we get to know new people. there’s no happy hours after a long day of zooming in your apartment.
It’s weird with all the tech we have socializing is very hard. As always common interests are a starting point. You riled up some people here at least. I know I’m down.
