Just moved here and with winter setting in need to get a good pair of gloves. Any recommendations for every day use for a guy?

Don’t get any expensive gloves. The cheap ones from Costco will do the trick. High chance you lose the gloves so no need to invest

likefunny

I also just do the Costco gloves (head is the brand) and I haven't lost my hands yet so

Bruh…I’m literally looking up gloves rn haha.
Don’t forget boots!

😂 I’ll tell my employees to just use Siri until they regain feeling in their hands again

get ones with touchscreen capabilities if you’re as phone addicted as I am 😂

I have 4 pairs of gloves in the rotation:

- very light glove inserts with capacitive fingertips, for when it’s not that cold and/or for wearing inside my other gloves when it’s colder
- soft shell insulated gloves with capacitive fabric (North Face apex)

Note that the above two pairs are not that warm — they’re the equivalent of a light fall jacket for your hands

- rabbit fur lined leather gloves for when the outdoor casual look is too casual, ie when I’m wearing a suit
- proper winter waterproof and insulated gloves, for when it’s really really cold

Neither of the above work with phone screens, but I can wear the glove liners inside them if I want so I can use a phone without making my hands bare.

Get proper winter boots too.

Sure, and those are better than nothing, but when it’s -10 and snowing sideways you’ll need proper gloves too.

Can someone please let me know now if i am not joining TCS are they going to blacklist my candidature. Or can i apply in TCS again.

Also please suggest should i get retained or join new company ( TCS / CTS).

Any insight on pros and cons of lateraling as a midlevel litigation associate to Paul, Weiss?

Generally happy with the cases I’m working on at my current firm and I love the other attorneys I work with and partners I work for (for the most part). Compensation would be the same. Mostly considering the move because things are so disorganized at my current firm and I end up pulling a ton of unnecessary all nighters, and I have virtually no administrative support.

Looking for advice on how to talk to my partner about a failed Valentine’s Day. For Christmas 2019, he got me a Gucci belt. It no longer fits, so he offered to sell it on eBay for me & use the proceeds to purchase a replacement. Fast forward to Valentine’s 2021. He had been hyping up his gift to me for days. What was it? You guessed it. A Gucci belt. He still expects to sell the old one & keep the proceeds himself. How do I talk to him without it seeming like I’m mad about a belt?

Has anyone else gone back to relying more on public transportation with the surging Uber / Lyft prices. Trips to and from ohare are costing me about as much as the plane tickets themselves, and even simple things like meeting a friend for dinner in another neighborhood ends up costing around $80 in transportation costs. I haven’t taken buses and trains much since I’ve graduated but now it just feels like I’m throwing money out the window by not making the switch back.

Hey everyone - looking to move to Chicago soon and an agent has pulled a few 1 BRs in Lakeview for me. I think they're ok, but I want to make sure I get the best bang for my buck. They're both $1800 a month. Is Lakeview a higher priced neighborhood? I don't particularly mind what neighborhood I live in, so I'm thinking there might be other neighborhoods where a $1800 could get me something nicer. Thoughts?
