This is the bane of my existence. I love this city, but I can’t make quality friends. Had a thriving social life in New York, here that went to hell. Might move back because I can’t make friends here.

You can meet people in your building gym and pool so use the amenities and be friendly. Join meetups. If you’re on the dating apps, you can turn some of these people into friends if you don’t hit it off romantically. Just remember there are lots of people here who are relatively new and also want friends, so don’t be shy. I’ve also become friendly with people I pay for services - like my nail technician, my eyebrow girl, etc. I’m assuming you have a barber and maybe others like that. These won’t all turn into lasting friendships but you never know who you might meet through them.
Don't be afraid to go to places alone. Yoga classes, boxing, and pop ups on anything happening. Also the Bumble app is great for meeting friends
I’m working long hours right now so haven’t been able to be too social last few weeks, but my gf goes to a lot of these workout classes and seems to meet a ton of people this way. In Midtown there’s a huge empty lot where I see tons of people with dogs who hang out as well and seems to be a good way to meet people. I’ve actually found that Miami (specifically the city) has become not so dissimilar to NY with different groups of people and things to do. Highly suggest eventbrite - filter by networking

I've gotten into some hobby based clubs which has really helped. You also have an advantage if you're athletic since you can join sports teams

Ask you social network from back home if they know anyone from Miami. That’s how I met some of my closest friends down here.
Miami is a tuff place to make friends even for an extrovert. I did volleyball league, other parent friends, and few randoms I met. But it takes time here.

Miami is a city that has a lot of things to do. I suggest you find your interest and start doing what you like. People with a similar mindset will surround you.
