Just opened a Roth IRA and have enough cash to max my contribution earmarked for 2021. I haven’t put the money in yet though because of the current market volatility. Is it better to just pull the trigger and dump all 6k in or should I contribute 2k/month until April as a DCA methodology?

Whatever makes you more comfortable. I'd buy it all tomorrow and forget about it personally.

You can lump sum deposit into IRA now, not buy yet if you wanna wait for market change, so that the funds will clear and ready for if you want to make an immediate buy. I had to wait a week before my funds to cleared to buy. In the meantime, it’ll just sit in like a money market fund earning little to low interest like it would in your current savings account.

Yea it can definitely just sit like cash somewhere, but check with the financial institution if you want to know exactly where. For example, I have Fidelity and it was sitting in SPAXX until I finally bought

Would just lump sum if you are young

Anyone know when Ch. 7 BKs must close by? Is this changed by when there are adversary proceedings (alleged fraudulent transfers made to a bank for CC payments)? Asking for my friend who is unfortunately involved bc of his parents, who are the debtors (he isn’t a defendant or a debtor in this, but the payments were made to a CC in his name—a CC he didnt know was opened in his name).

Its in Texas, and the initial BK filing was made about 23 months ago. TIA!

Currently going through the hiring process for a role in San Francisco. They told me the starting base was $110K, but this sounds like pennies in a city like San Francisco! I am concerned that if I make it through I’ll basically be poor in such an expensive city, not to mention the taxes. I also have a baby so child care I am sure is expensive. Not sure if it would make sense. Advice?

Luggage delay claim question

I used Chase explorer to buy tickets for my vacation and luggages were delayed for a month. Per chase term I am entitled $100 a day for 3 days. But the claim agency chase used has been asking for airlines response, which has not came (2month+ now). I am concerned insurance will use this as an excuse to never compensate. Is there a good way to handle this situation?
TIA

Also planning to invest in ELSS and term insurance by Jan end. While i only submitted LIC in investment declaration form.
Can someone guide me what will be the process henceforth?

I read to the kids a book that ended with a line like, "If it was a good story, start all over."I told the kids I really only did that once in my life regarding a book about a teacher going to teach in Africa. In reality it was about a missionary. I hid the name of it and what it really was about. In other instances I've also explained the meaning of life is to love sacrificialy without telling them the source. I feel guilty hiding the Truth. How do you speak the Truth without being fired?

Looking for advice for investing in these two options. Say I have $100k by October saved up
1) Put 10k into iBonds and $90k as downpyament and closing costs for a property (I’ll need to put in 20%, already talked to several mortgage agents)
2) Put $0 in ibonds and put all the $100k in the home investing (given it’s a little more of an expensive property, given some other factors - location, size, etc)
