^ I’d take a pay cut to live in nyc. There’s a sense of excitement and opportunity here that isn’t anywhere else
I always LOVE when I visit. But then I see the holes that you can afford without spending a fortune. And getting around is not as easy as it might seem. I do feel like I should take the plunge for a year or so to try it out. The energy is incomparable
Completely agree. Whenever I’m in NYC, it just feels like home - and there’s a certain electricity in the air
D1 - exactly. It’s an imperfect city that’s dirty and cold. But the excitement and knowledge that everyone is struggling and the feeling of hope and pride and strength when you “make it” is what we drive for it.

Not sure it's worth paying rent (and income taxes) in NYC regardless of level / salary. Imagine saving a grand per month living in a cheaper city (conservative estimate). You could take a trip to NYC every month with that if you wanted.
I’m already in the 70-80k range right now. The reason I’m thinking it might be worth it is because I’m local so I’m actually here most weeks.
Yeah I loooove everything about this city, except the rent and taxes. That’s why I kind of want a range estimate of what I would be making if and when I make SC. trying to see what I’ll likely be spending on rent, student loans, etc. Thanks
I’d say a first year SC would be at 115k in commercial at Deloitte
Thank you
Ahh living in NY. Learning skills like how to differentiate the smell of street urine and subway urine. So glamorous. So exciting.
