Hi ladies!
I have my video interview with Liberty Mutual tomorrow for a licensed customer service role. Oddly, this morning I get an invitation to interview with Farmers for a claims customer service associate. I know the salary for the LM role, but not the Farmers role. Does anyone have experience with either? They are both great companies and I want to make sure I’m planting my feet with the right one. Thank you!Liberty Mutual Insurance Farmers Insurance Group

I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

First - it sounds like you may work somewhere where you don’t understand how compensation works for people at your level. So, I would say try to ask the question, respectfully, about how compensation decisions are made and how compensation works for associates. Does your firm have any HR professional you could ask before the review? Otherwise, try to ask a partner you might trust or ideally a more senior associate. If anyone is offended you even ask, as long as you do respectfully and without entitlement, that’s probably a red flag about them.
Big picture - if you are a first going into second year associate, focus on your training and development. If you develop good skills and experience and then feel you are underpaid once you have more experience, you can lateral to somewhere that pays you better (and if you can’t, then you’re not underpaid.)
Is your firm not lockstep?
Nope
What are you making now? The cravath scale is a little more than a five percent increase from year one to year two.
