I recently accepted an offer from gds, then after a week another company came and offered me 20% extra + ESOP worth 30%, so 50% above gds offer. I asked politely to the HR if they can revise my offer and match this offer of other company. To my surprise they said yes and they will send revised offer in a week. Will there be any issues in future because of this negotiation!? 😅

I was referred to McKinsey last month but haven’t heard back yet. The system still say “submitted”. Obviously things are slow with the holidays and recruiters don’t reach out to new people for a bit. But my question is: how quick is the McKinsey recruiting process? My firm now can’t get enough people in the door to fill projects. Is McKinsey still getting/retaining employees that recruiting is business-as-usual or are the scaling back/up?

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. I had 10 slots to choose from. I took the first slot available. Three were one day earlier this week and the rest are next week. Does it look good (or desperate, lol) on my part that I took the first time or should I have waited until next week so that I would be fresher on their minds when choosing a candidate? Also, do interviewers still appreciate a handwritten note after an interview?

Was this year just a tough cycle? MBB, ORM, 740, 3.1 Ivy STEM UGPA but dinged at HBS no interview. A bit shocked as I had good recs and story

Got a healthcare hedge fund analyst offer with 150K base and up to 250K bonus. With comp increase potential but no clear path to be promoted to portfolio manager given the fund size. I have 6 YOE in consulting and a PhD in life sciences. Lifestyle is not much better than consulting. The hiring manager tried to convince me with “long-term upside” but of course cannot commit to anything given the fund is new. Thinking I should turn it down but wonder how others think
