Hello Everyone! Does anyone have a connection at Netflix ! I am an author/marketing associate and truly my dream job is to work on the team that creates/produces Drive to Survive. I am a huge F1 fan! However, I am willing to start where I can and work my way there! I was laid off due to Covid and just trying to get back into the field and industry I love.
Does anyone ever get pitch work produced?
New to Fishbowl?

When you get to the end zone, act like you’ve been there before.
Does this happen often? If not let it go. We all have our good day and our bad days. Key is to have each other's back.
Not that often. Sounds like a good choice indeed
Credit is set when the teams are. Don’t. Ever. Try to weasel credit away from your partner.
Even if you’re successful, nobody will want to work with you, everyone will think you’re a dick, and the cost will be higher than the benefit.
Take it from someone who made that mistake.
What if you’re carrying all the weight though?
Definitely don’t take credit; your partner will be far more on board with you if they feel like they’re sharing credit. Also, congrats!
If you want to be a writer let ECD know. If not share your magic with your partner and you will both become stronger. I use to help art direct for my partners when I was coming up. Never took credit but it made me totally ready to guide ADs when I became a CD.
Hey as an AD that can concept/ write strongly yet throw down in Creative Suite, get your credit. ‘thanks, x helped me on this one’ is a good way to get some and is actually appreciated by your If you delivered, you delivered- be proud, your partner sure won’t be with you forever. That’s dying by the time your an ecd: twice the payroll for partners sharing an account isn’t flying anymore, some partner w strat and account more and more. Plus CWs who can talk their way around a room always get promoted, with or without ideas.👌so, get it!
This was interesting to read. My CW is making his career on my back and I end up basically writing out the main gist of most of the copy. Every. Single. Time.
What do you mean twice the parole for partner sharing isn’t flying anymore? And the last part of your paragraph hits hard because my CW is so well spoken that I wonder if anyone sees through the shit...
Be careful with the credit claiming. I’ve seen it happen with teams and while I end up knowing the truth, I always see that person as less of a team player. So you won’t look better
I hear you OP. But if they paired you with a more senior person then they already know you’re good. Take the high road. But if it keeps happening, maybe ask for a new partner who pushes you more.
The other question is: should I be opened to my boss and say that I wrote it, as the cw is taking all the credit for it?
I could see the hate on my copywriter’s eyes. Should I approach him about this? Not good at all with these situations.
The credit part of the business will be the downfall of it all.
I'm glad you wrote some great scripts. You're a creative. You're on a team. But you didn't do it alone. At some point you concepted together.
If they're not a good writer, then ask for a new writer. But this sounds like a terrible idea
Ideally your partner would give you a shoutout so you don’t feel the need to claim credit for yourself. That’s what I’d do. “Wish I could take the credit on this one, but that was all Jen.” Makes you both look good and like team players and strong partners. Since it sounds like that didn’t happen I’d let this one go and hope for the best next time. Ultimately you should both be pushing each other
I’m a writer who often comes up with visual ideas. My AD often throws out a great headline or bit of TV dialogue. And we always give each other credit. It’s how a great partnership works. You may need to branch out.
