I actually think about this a lot in terms of the women I work with and who are in my network, some of them have been pioneers at where they work or in the work they do, and yet unless you have their LinkedIn you might never know it. The media does a kind of one-and-done thing for women in STEM whereas I feel like men are usually mentioned ad nauseam.
That is a fantastic idea. Most women in my network can be found on their LinkedIn or personal website, but other than that it's maybe one or two articles citing accomplishments with no follow-up and sometimes no interview.
Not at all. The media favors men still especially in STEM.
Nope. I know this because every time there's a seminar, our firm always sends the guys. It's the same with media opportunities as well.
Nope. They still prefer men because they think men look like they know things better than women. And I beg to disagree.
Wow that is such a good idea. I would never have thought to do that. I def do not think we get the same accolades or opportunities as men. We have a LONG way to go before women are even considered equal.
