Just read the SOW for my new project, and it says "... will work the standard 44 hour work week." Typo or are the people smoking something?

44 A1? Never heard of that. We charge 45

like

When I was at Deloitte, we charged 44 hrs a week instead of 40. This was because PTO counted against your utilization, so charging 44 hours a week let you bank some chargeable time.

ACN does things differently, so we just charge in 40...and work well over that!

like

My standard is 45. A steal. You think I'm productive for 40? Nawww.

like

45? Then I got hosed out of an hour a week for 2 years!

China's standard work week is 44h

That seems like averaging of a fixed or desired dollar amount over the period of performance. Don't get hung up details like the exact hours per week just deliver solid value to the client and take care of yourself in the process.

But I’m concerned about how hard it’ll be to reach my American phone number for manager or client. Verizon international is like +$130 for the month, T-mobile magenta plan seems good but also is $.25 a minute for calling. Doesn’t seem like a big deal cause I can just say “let me call you on Skype” or something, but wanted to see if others had good recommendations.
