Just realized I mistakenly misspelled the person’s name I sent an email to as part of an interview process. I so hate doing that to someone, do I follow up with a short - “Sorry X I realized I misspelled your name in the prior email, have a nice weekend” or do I just let it be? One letter off, this is what I get for responding on my phone, dang autocorrect.

Done! Sent the email, agreed I was torn at first but agreed no harm in a quick apology. Thanks for the input everyone 😊

You don’t HAVE to, but you can. I get this a lot because my name is hard to spell

I the future think about ways to call back an email. Lots of emails have it these days. If they did not open it it can be called back like it did not even happen 😊

Heck no. If it doesn’t work and they see your attempt, you look like a clown.

Someone once emailed me after an interview and said “it was so great to hear about your experiences at Bain”. I noticed immediately. 5 hours later she followed up with an apology stating that she realized she had mixed up firms. She then told me “it was because it was early and she hadn’t had her coffee”. The original email was sent at 10:45am. Don’t be that person. A quick reply of name spelled wrong is fine. Just apologize and don’t give an excuse. Also put a send delay on your email for next time

Exactly. Quick correction and a few niceties. Excuses do not make any candidate look good.

I need help immediately! So I just got an offer from Gartner, but I am also interviewing with Google, Microsoft, and Tik Tok. I am prepping for a final loop at Microsoft but told Gartner I have an offer to make negotiations more in my favor. Is it bad to accept an offer from Gartner then finish the interviews at another company higher on my list and accept the other offers(Google/Microsoft) instead? & Can I push for my compensation without presenting the other offers?

If someone can verify this? I have seen so many posts here and on Quora too, that TCS release the salary structure breakup after the interview rounds, but do not send the offer letter, even after acceptance of salary. The HR person won't deny you on the face, but keep on delaying that offer letter release would take time. Is this true? Do a reputed company like TCS make such fake promises or raise false hopes in candidates?
